Alright, I guess I'll start.))

Brook crept along the side of the busy street. She tried to avoid the noon sunlight for fear of being seen. Taking a sharp turn into a more remote route she slid under an unused table, enjoying the shade. It was a hot day out and the sun-warmed pavement wasn't helping. Brook lay there panting keeping alert for any sudden sounds.

Strangely a familiar scent had found it's way to her nose. 'Oh great...' She thought. Brook had no intentions of encountering one of those crazy rascals. They'd probably kill her on the spot. Oh how she wanted to get away! Quickly thinking she spotted a small crack in a wall that she might be able to squeeze into. Hurriedly Brook trotted over and checked the hole with her whiskers. She'd just about fit. Turning around she backed in. The rough walls were practically ripping her pelt off.

As the padding sounds grew near Brook panicked and shoved herself in as far as she could go and waited. She tried to keep calm but her heart was beating terribly fast.

The morning wind blew quietly, running it's gentle hands through Dawntail's soft silvery fur. She have a small sigh, taking in the gentle wind welcomingly. Her bright blue eyes shined brightly as she sat perched atop a building. She sat on the very rim of it, her tail wrapped around her and drooped off the edge. Her ears flicked as the sounds of the city slowly awakened. Soft purrs of car motors, flickers of lights turning on, the hum of gentle conversation. Dawntail watched the sunrise quietly, letting her mind go blank. She was only a few buildings away from her Clans main alleyway. She always watched the sunrise....always. On this building, in this spot. Dawntail flicked her tail as the warmth of the newly rising sun hit her chest. It have her a nice warm feeling she was greatful for. Mornings were always quiet for the clan. Many of her clan mates were bitter, and unapproachable. She supposed they had changed over the years. Only a few still held the pure heart of a genuine clan cat. They all still had clan hearts deep inside them, but blanketed then with bitter protection. Dawntail sat in silence for a while, paying attention to each little sound of the awakening earth. She slowly grazed over things that had to be done today in her mind.

Spottedpaw awoke with a jolt, gasping for air that came all too slowly. ANOTHER nightmare. The apprentice sighed, letting his eyes graze over the alleyways. Clan cats milled around doing various tasks and everyone having a place. Spottedpaw twitched his ear as a small group of apprentices talked and giggled. Spottedpaw had yet to be assigned to a Warrior Mentor, but was still considered an Apprentice. He had been training with various Warriors over the past few moons,  but never had his own Mentor. He slowly got up, gratefully stretching his tense muscles. Spottedpaw stood and quietly padded over to the group of Apprentices, perking his ears as conversation rattled his brain. A few of the Apprentices looked over at him with dirty looks, some completely ignored his presence. Spottedpaw was rather small for an Apprentice, so they looked down at him. He swallowed nervously, sitting with the circle of Apprentices. One Apprentice rolled his eyes, making an annoyed sound, and walked away. "C'mon guys. Dumbpaw ruined the fun." One cat said as the group stood and walked off with the other cat. Spotted paw flattened his ears against his head, looking at his paws as the other cats strode off down the alley. Spottedpaw gave a small quiet sigh.

Jaggedskies

Jaggedskies groggily lifted his head, his ears flattened and his pale green eyes blinking upwards. He stood up from the dumpster's shadow, stretching out his limbs and back. His eyes scanned the area, seeing a lonely apprentice, Spottedpaw. The tom rolled his eyes, but padded over to the younger. "What's got ya down?" He asked, his voice still groggy. His ear flicked, finally acknowledging his messy coat; he crouched down, folding his ears back as if he had no intent on listening but looked up once he thought the apprentice was going to talk. The older tom's thick tail went to his own side, almost as if he were about to go to sleep again. "Go on."

Dawntail huffed, now that the sun had pulled itself fully over the horizon. She flicked her silver tail as she stood up, walking gracefully along the edge of the building. The Warrior let her eyes Grace the rooftops ahead. She took long strides, then began to trot. With sure feet she leapt to the next rooftop, and the next and the next. Dawntail went to a walk on the last rooftop, taking a deep breath. She leapt from the rim of the building, silently landing high-up boxes, then leaping onto a dumpster. Flicking her tail, Dawntail looked up and saw the Clan Leader smiling at her. Dawntail gave a small smile, and inclined her head in respect. And with that, Dawntail sat herself down on the dumpster. She sat tall, perking her ears as she scanned the alleyway gently.

------

Spottedpaw perked his ears as he heard pawsteps coming towards him. The tom craned his neck to see a Clan Warrior approaching. Jaggedskies he believed was the name. Spottedpaw then flattened his ears again, wanting to disappear. He hated being ignored by Apprentices, but lectured by a Warrior? Spottedpaw blinked in surprise when Jaggedskies asked what was wrong with him. Many of the Warrios had never taken kindly to shy, weak Apprentices. He opened his mouth to speak, but his throat felt tight. He swallowed nervously, and tried again. "I-It's nothing really. It's just that none of the other A-apprentices have ever liked me." Spottedpaw spoke timidly, trying not to stumble on his words.

She waited in the crack a long time. Was it just a false alarm? Feeling she was safe Brook pulled herself out only to come in the sight of a silver she-cat staring right at her, perched on a dumpster. Freezing in fright her mind ran over things she could do. Run? Fight? Faint?!?! Brook was running out of options. She'd be captured for sure!

Jaggedskies

Jaggedskies rolled his eyes. "And? That's it?" The tom stood up, arching his back in a stretch. "If ya wanna be a true warrior, start actin' like one." His grumble ended with a tail twitch and he began to walk away. Wasn't he the apprentice without a mentor, though? This could get you a few points. He pointed out in his thoughts. His ear gave a flick before he scampered off to the freshkill pile. A few crows, mice, and squirrels lay on the pile, though something urged him to stay away from the crows. He picked up a mouse, briskly taking it back to his nest.
