"Can't you just leave me to my misery?"

Name: Cephei
Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Species: Canine/dog
Breed: Saluki

Personality: Once a rather prestigious and queen-like dog, -- personality wise, that is -- Cephei was destroyed by the "revelation" that she was infected. She is now a very 'down' sort of canine; though it's a little more dramatic than normal. "Just leave me to die!" and "Can't you see that I'm gonna die? Leave a lady alone!" are common utterances. Unfortunately this all stems from the fact that she was raised in the shadow of her sister and feels the need to be absolutely supreme.
Backstory: Born an amazing show dog, Cephei was born with the name Majora -- after the biggest known star in the universe. This was because of her fur, her colors, and her ears. However, she had this name for quite a short time before her half-sister, the actual Majora was born. While similar in looks, (the real) Majora had better volume in her fur, better texture, and a better quality overall. Therefore, (the first) Majora was given the name Cephei -- after the second biggest known star in the universe. Well, this was a blow. Heck, Majora wasn't even an on purpose kind of puppy! Cephei was born from a planned breeding, Majora from an 'accidental' breeding between her father and another dog from the kennel! Sure, they loved each other, and her father treasured his love-children more than his forced-children, but really! After her owner died and the kennel was abandoned, Cephei, unfortunately, was the only one left; being a loyal companion, she refused to leave and thus was caught between a rock and a hard place when an infected dog showed up. Well, a dog and a hard place. Though she escaped unharmed, the very regal looking canine believes that she is infected and will do everything she can to make it known. Obviously a delusion when you first see her; but really it seems to be more of an attention-grabber than an actual delusion.

Infected: No.
Group(?): No.

Crush: n/a
Mate: n/a
Pup(s): n/a
Extra: n/a

hope I did this right. if/when she dies I'll replace her by playing her sister Majora

Daciana & Reima

"So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those stars will always be there to guide you. And so will I."

A mist seemed to fill the small city of Queton - and everything remained silent. Not too long ago the City would be lit by blinding lights which shone down from the heavens, lighting up the now dimmed streets. Where dark patches of grass lay, was once covered in the beautiful, bright flowers which bloomed every spring and lasted through out summer. Not to mention the somewhat relaxing heat which had now been replaced by the now freezing, bitter weather. It had always been nice in this once beautiful City - summers were always bright and cheerful, some winters being the same way although a lot darker and colder. However, as this winter slowly came - it seemed a lot more dark than previous ones she had lived through. Despite all the flash backs and images she'd get when being transferred here, she still held a bitter tongue towards the force whom placed her in the company of an old woman who couldn't even throw a ball without breaking her hip. Nothing could be changed now though, they were stuck in this hell hole for a time which couldn't be told. Fending for themselves - which wasn't the ways of an average 'pet' as you may say. But even the toughest of strays would even struggle with this in some shape or form. To those canines left in this place, they were still unaware as to why they had been left here. There was so reasonable explanation to the whole thing, but everything apparently happens for a reason. And for once she isn't alone. Now having all the company she needed - but this all still seemed like a disaster. And a very big one at that.

However, the Malinois felt safe. Not to the fact that she was faced with those beasts daily, but the fact she knew another was out there - watching and protecting all in order to see them through the worst. Many labelled this canine as the 'Protector' yet he hadn't been seen by many. Only one dog lived to tell the tale and give a brief description on the black canine who was said to be a male and some sort of Mastiff. Weeks later the dog was slaughtered by those mutants. It was a shame. But having this dog around put Daciana at ease a little, seeing as he often helped those in need or whom were being attacked - yet he did never, ever come out of the shadows. One minute he'd be there - and the next he'd be gone. A lot like a ghost although he was real. It still baffled Daci as to why he didn't save the young pup, until given the chance that was. Maybe he wanted to over come spite and greed and once and for all get this place back on track. Whatever he was doing and whatever he wanted seemed to be working. Although those things were still out there; man, feline and canine - always there, lurking around and seeking their next meal. Sure by injuring the creatures head and possibly the neck could end them - but it wasn't that simple. They needed to fight. Fight for what they believed in. Fight for their lives.

A huff soon blew past the tan canines lips as she looked out at the empty streets, which seemed to slowly be brightening up - the bitter cold still being obvious on the cracked window as the steam slowly and gradually disappeared within the minutes. Soon it would be time to go out and stretch her legs, along with getting more food for her and her new companion. Not long ago she had been, but with winter coming they'd need to stock up. Rodents would soon go into hiding and lakes/ponds would freeze over - leaving them with merely nothing but that the two-leggeds left behind. That was something she'd attempt to get out of the way today seeing as they were slowly running low. With that pushed aside the female glanced around the room - which was surprisingly still neatly decorated and filled with furniture - a few holes and scratches now and there, but everything was neat. They were also rather protected. Seeing as a large, metal, barbed-wired fence surrounded the building and the only was in was a gap in the fence behind a dumpster and the only way in being through a hole in the wall which had been kicked in - a secret door the older canine had prepared. This to yet be revealed

Hearing the quiet squeaks coming from the other room a smile formed at the canids lips, but was soon covered up as she made her way into the room which could be described as a bed room. Slowly making her way around the door frame the tan pigmented dog allowed her dark auds to rest upon the small canine whom was sleeping in her usual position on a large, grey pillow in the corner of the room. Despite the urge to smile she pushed it down - this wasn't really in her nature. However, somehow Reim was able to bring out her smiles and her softer side, which wouldn't be shown to just anyone - but those whom meant something to her. Remaining quiet she made her way towards the youngster and nudged her gently "Come on then, time to get up" she spoke, her voice in its usual raspy tone just a bit softer. Knowing the pup would get up within the next few minutes she decided to head back into the other room and set herself down in her usual spot which was next to the window of course. In the mean time, Reima was getting up.

Reima didn't really have a sleeping pattern or routine - and seemed to just wake up whenever Daciana woke her, or when the light shone through the glass paned windows. With the gentle nod she received the pup wriggled around a little, letting out a few whines as she done so - yet her eyes remained closed. That was until a somewhat dim light shone into the room causing the youngster to let out a grunt. Seeing as she would be unable to get back to sleep now. Hurling herself to her paws the grey pelted canine hurled herself to her paws and made her way across the pillow - the softness causing her to sink in the fabrics. Moments later she made it off and headed into the next room "Good morning, Daciana..." she muttered - thus being muffled slightly by a yaw as she set herself on her hind legs and placed her fore paws in the dashboard - eyes locked on the streets below, what she could see anyways. The two remained seated together glancing out of the pane.

Lady
"... Never was so much owed by so many to so few ..."

The jingling sounds of bones against bones echoed along the desolated corridor as the albino effeminate made her way through the hotel, sharp blue eyes alert for any signs of danger which she so easily attracted with the useless collar she could not remove. Her stomach refused to let up either, a constant growl surfacing every so often to ensure that she knew that she needed food. Lady rolled her eyes, movement to her left catching them as she froze, looking towards it only to find that it was a pathetic wee rat which was making use of the decomposing food which was scattered about the floor. Lady balked. She wasn't used to this. It was purely disgusting. Her stomach growled in protest and she groaned. Thankfully, none of the infected had managed to get to the higher floors of the hotel, so Lady could make use of the bar fridges which were situated in the rooms. The infected that were there, well, she had to be pretty careful to avoid them, but Lady had danced this dance many times. And so, with very little effort, even if her goddamn collar made an undesirable amount of noise, she managed to secure herself within a particular room, the bar fridge ajar and filled with food which would normally be unhealthy for a dog, but sadly, she had to make do. The weather outside was incredibly bitter, and Lady continuously had the thought of hunkering down here and waiting it out, but she knew she wouldn't. This wasn't her home.

Having dug into the food, nearly vomiting most of it up, she finally made her way down towards the lower levels, narrowly missing an encounter with the blasted infected woman at the reception. Normally, by now she would be back at the station, safe and sound in her little cubicle where none could harm her, but today it seemed that she would be mindful of her rituals and take a different route, finding herself in a completely different place within the desolate place. Sometimes she would wander around, hoping to perhaps encounter the one they called 'Protector.' But never had she seen him, for they all said he was dead. TO Lady, it felt like someone was paying attention. Someone was there. She knew it was him and she sought to find him, like countless others sought to as well. For this protector was their solution, their safety. They needed him, yet he did not dare show himself. Instead each and every one of them were faced with the Infected every day, fighting to survive and tearing apart possible loved ones to do so. It was a morbid living, but one she had easily adapted to. She needed to find a way to get most of the dogs to congregate. They were a greater force when together, the female had learned this from experience. But it was so hard to get that done, for many were fearful, intimidated by her words of... what was it? Domination? Hell, she didn't mean it in that sense? Or did she? Even Lady couldn't tell.

Her gaze finally drifted towards a house, which appeared abandoned, yet well secure and she grunted. There was no way in from what she could see. Not that she really cared, but the lingering scent of another canine wafted through the air and made Lady increasingly curious. Perhaps there were people in there, with companions of their own. Which caused a spark of jealousy to ignite within. She wished for that again, and dearly missed her family. That was also, however, besides the point. The doberman took a few tentative steps forward, her collar make one hell of a racket as she did so, pale eyes showing the increasing curiosity within as she studied the fortified place. She honestly wondered who would live in there. Perhaps she could attempt to draw them out, if someone was in there. But before she could even do so, a rumbling hiss came from behind the albino effeminate and she turned as a thundering snarl escaped her very lips. Blasted felines. They honestly had no care whether the dogs were bigger than them. Well, why would they, the were technically dead.

She promptly disposed of the creature by lunging for its throat, attempting to sever the body from the brain through the spine. It took a few good tries and close calls due to the creatures swiftness and sharp claws which had inflicted various scratches upon Lady's glorious coat, but a resounding crack was heard and the feline dropped dead on the floor. With no time to lose, the female quickly sauntered out of sight, knowing full well she must have been heard, hiding now and waiting for something interesting to happen.

Vera

The mother to be trotted down an old broken road, broken down abandoned buildings surrounded her. Vera licked her chops, she had just consumed a small squirrel that didn't fully satisfy her but it had to do for now. Soon she was in a residential area, run down homes were lined along the old street, and the smell of death and fear entered her nose, sending a chill down her spine. The large canine peered at a pale yellow house with a white door and a white picket fence, she was sure that this house was once beautiful and was filled with happy people and maybe even a family dog. Vera never enjoyed such a life but she didn't care, she wasn't sad that she never had a family that loved her. Vera looked away from the house and continued down the street. That's when she heard a cat's yowl and some struggling. The canine trotted quickly down the street then made a left, only to see the body of a mangled feline. The fresh scent of another dog entered her nostrils "Who's there?" she barked along with a small growl. Her motherly instinct kicking in, making her act slightly more aggressive and protective, even if her young were not yet born.

Sorry for this being so short, In a rush)

Daciana & Reima

"So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those stars will always be there to guide you. And so will I."

Looking at her smaller companion the light pigmented canine allowed a smile to quickly curl at her lips. Seeing this youngster safe and healthy gave her a sense of hope, but not also gave her a bigger purpose on staying alive. If she was to be killed, who would actually take her in? Sure there was bound to be other survivors, but they were rarely social and friendly now, also not wanting another mouth to feed - they'd more than likely reject the young pup if she was to be alone. Maybe the one they called the 'Protector' would take her in, but that wasn't likely. No one had hardly seen him never mind actually communicating and interacting with the masculine. However, her time was far from near and she knew those things wouldn't take her just yet - she wouldn't let them. Daciana had became to motherly figure to young Reima, which encouraged the head-strong female to allow herself to fall back from her usual temperamental self, and become a little more cooperative. Towards the pup that was. As the days went on, the pup grew older and bigger, her appetite increasing. Soon she'd have to try and search for more food, or is she could steal some. Daci was aware that it was unusual for her breed to hunt, but this would have to soon be an option. Although, the young lass would soon be able to help in providing, within a few weeks she would be one, leaving her almost fully grown.

Moments later Dacianas auds were torn from the dark pigmented figure as a muffled growl sounded, soon being followed by what seemed to be the yowl of a cat. Narrowing her eyes the Malinois let out a growl as she rose onto all fours, ears now slightly flattened against her head as she glanced out the window. Reima was still quiet, although the sudden noises did scare the young pup - she didn't want to show fear in front of her 'mother' in order to not appear weak. Even though Daciana had reassured her many times that everyone gets scared at times - even her. Standing on her hind legs allowed the canine to glare out the window, a small frame seemed to lay in the middle of the road "What is that?" she questioned, her head cocked as she glanced up at the female. "I'm not sure, I'll go and check it out - you stay here and eat something, there's a few bits and pieces in the other room..." and with that the ex military dog slowly made herself towards the small crack, poking her snout out she took in several whiffs - nothing, apart from the obvious horrid stench of the cat...then something unfamiliar. It seemed to be the scent of dog. But this one wasn't infected. Furrowing her brows the female crouched down a little and quickly made her way through the small gap.

A sudden coldness took over the female as she left the house, all warmth being lost as she was now exposed to the coldness but also the dangers which the outdoors held. The tanned canid let out a grunt as she took this time as an opportunity to quickly make sure the premises was clear - which was complete with a quick yet thorough check of the fences and areas which she had managed to cover up - these routes having entry and access, but only she knew of them. Feeling satisfied she had checked the secret entries and that the fence was still secure she headed towards the fence to exit on to the street. However a soft voice soon called causing her to let out a snarl as she turned her head , raising a brow at the young pup whom now stood just outside the small hall at the top of a flight of stairs. "Um, I wanted to just....Um, come out?" she smiled, a little uncomfortable as she was unsure as to whether she'd receive a scolding - however Dacis reply came as a surprise and this time she obeyed "Alrighty, well stay in the fence, you see anything warn me and if something approaches hide!" she snorted, squeezing out of the barbed wire fence, pushing herself under the whole she had dug.

Once getting out of the closed in area she headed towards the corpse of what appeared to be the cat, which seemed to have been slaughtered - that suggesting to her it was from the dog she could smell. Letting out a growl she placed a paw in the feline and rolled it over, peering down at its scarred and flaked face, as well as its matted fur and its tatted ears. Weirdly she didn't find this repulsive, although the putrid scent which lifted from the now dead corpse. Kicking it away aggressive she dipped her paw in a near by puddle, which resulted in small amounts of mud collecting on her paw - which she guessed was better than rotting blood. Following the scent a tiny bit up the street, her attention soon turned as someone called from behind. The Malinois scanned around, her eyes soon resting upon another canine - whom didn't seem to be infected. Flattening her ears and narrowing her eyes, she took a few steps closer to the fence which the pup was sitting behind - amber/brown auds locked on the unknown canine. Her instincts were always the same when being greeted by someone unknown, if this dog didn't pose a threat to her, she wouldn't too it. "And you are?" she questioned, her stance remaining tall and dominant as she looked towards the female. Meanwhile the pup had set herself atop a small, wooden crate which sat just a few centimetres away from the house - giving her a perfect view of the streets behind her - the small amount of buildings and forest behind her now unseen for now. Unlike she'd usually do, Reima decided to stay quiet, watching as the older female handles the situation as she had always done - deep brown eyes resting on the two canines, her auds now and then wondering up the streets and of course onto the felines corpse.
