Game Discussion / Re: Hyenas: Making a Come-Back?
« on: April 29, 2014, 07:57:33 pm »
Oh, I've noticed them.

I notice them

EVERYWHERE I LOOK.

It's really annoying to someone like me, who's never really cared for hyenas.
It's not that I hate them for the 'noob' reason, it's just because I don't enjoy RPing them as an animal.

Which is why I was annoyed the other day when I was looking for an RP, and EVERY SINGLE MOVIE CLIP (all but one mappless clan) were hyenas.
Yea, I know fads come and go, but really.
Hyenas?
Dragons are cool, they're giant flying lizards with magic.
Humans are OK, at least most human RPs had magic or an interesting plot.
Wolves are WC are always something you can join if you're bored.
Even horses are OK, since many horse RPs had numerous things you could do.

Hyenas...
What type of hyena RP's I've seen:
-Realistic
-Semi-realistic to realistic
-Semi-realistic
-Part of an African RP
-Part of a multi-species RP

All of it is realistic to semi-realistic, which is a real downer to people like me who enjoy fantasy/magic/unrealistic RPs.
I'm not saying that the occasional hyena RP is bad, but this sudden WAVE of hyenas is annoying.

Rant over for now.

Game Help / Re: Map Maker Issues

Thank you for looking around for me, Vespian, but the height map isn't my problem.
I can enter the terrain file into a brand new file and it works fine, same as the mask.

Game Help / Map Maker Issues
« on: April 28, 2014, 08:12:41 pm »
Ithinkthisismyfirsttimepostingonthisboard.
-Ahem-

Well, I make maps a lot, and this is the first time I've been unable to solve a problem myself.
Here's the issue:

I have two maps that this applies to.
I was exporting map A, it went smoothly. No problems so far.
Exporting map B, and as soon as it was roughly half-way the entire export progress, FH crashed.
Flustered, I opened FH up again and it crashed.
So, I saved all my meshes and map files into another folder, and redownloaded.
Placing the files correctly, I could open FH again.
So I went to export the maps again.
They wouldn't open.

Ever single time I went to open the map files, FH would crash.
I could enter them from Cape just fine, but map maker wouldn't let me.
I deleted the mesh the Exporting crashed on, I found a particle in my my_objects folder and deleted it, I've done everything I've done before.
Still doesn't work, and I'm too lazy to restart all my progress.

Any help here?

Game Discussion / Re: Character Personality, Favoring?
« on: April 25, 2014, 08:27:01 pm »
Hmm.. Interesting.
I never thought about this before.
Well, time to go look at all my charries and attempt to remember their personalities!

6 minutes later...

Well then.
I either have social charries that are kind, social charries that just smile and nod at everything, or anti-social charries with not much to say about them.
I wrote down a definition of each charrie on my list, and they are below.

The Charrie List

Slayer is a very cold wolf, not too trusting to those she doesn't know very well, and even then she won't rely on them. Slayer likes to stay away from others, due to a misfortune that happened to her long ago. She attacks every dragon she sees, also due to her history.

Kuraikokoro is a fairly social dragoness. She can often be found around groups of others, listening to their conversation. Kurai has a very dark sense of humor, finding jokes about death, sickness, and other misfortunes the most amusing thing. Other then these 'jokes', Kurai is fairly serious, and doesn't care for young ones due to their overly-energetic personalities.

Hitoshi is a very calm, even tempered wolf who's very laid back. While he can be serious at times, he tends to try and keep a light jest around his coalition. Not much of the leader type, he tends to listen to what others say rather then dive head first into the 'in charge' position. He also likes to think before diving head first into things, trying to plan everything out rather then becoming a trial and error type of guy.

Filina is pretty anti-social, avoiding busy places unless her current job calls for it, or she has to buy something. Her chosen Player job as 'Information Broker' has made her one of most untrusted person in the game. Filina holds to this title, and often acts harshly to other players.

Asuna [LDF] is more of the loner type, avoiding other groups as much as she can. Even in the dangerous environment that the Earth has become, Asuna stays alone and brave. Whenever she does find a group to stay with, she normally ends up leaving because some type of drama comes up, and to Asuna, that's a no-no.

Anahi tends to be center of the crowd, talking to every single person who comes up to her. Due to her brother's humorous personality, Anahi absorbed that and became very sarcastic. You can normally find her asleep under a tree somewhere, not taking much of anything seriously.

Y?ki is very social and outgoing, very rarely found sitting still. Y?ki is quite a handfull to care for, being as how he always wants to discover something new. However, he's not too great at expressing his emotions or telling personal information. He also refuses to listen to anyone, giving him a reputation for being stubborn and a brave fool.

Anahi [Dragoness] leads a social life, but not out of choice. If it was up to her, she would be in a corner alone, studying her newest curiosity. However, due to being forced into the Leader ranking, Anahi has adapted a very strong, commanding persona to avoid getting her Clan all flustered and out of order.

Tiger(sand) is a quiet feline, normally found in the corner listening in. Anything you ask her, she says that she'll do that, making her almost a push-over. She's caring to those she trusts or pities, and loyal to her clan.

Erza, regardless of her being the leader of the largest guild, is extremely shy to those she's never met before, and only opens up a bit to her guild. However, even like this, she gets very serious and protective of her guild if they're threatened, making her a very powerful opponent. Being shy has another downside, and Erza is very easily embarrassed by even the littlest things.

Subject 253/Midna is too young to be taken seriously. She's ignorant to almost everything, unable to understand why the adults in the facility are always depressed. 253 always tries to cheer them up, trying to get them to open up and play with her. She'll talk to anyone, even the wall if no one is around. Some say she's too social, and others say she's too ignorant, but Midna is fine the way she is.

I think I have charries all over the place, but I seem to have a 'loner type' theme going around.
Ah well, guess that's how my mind works.

Game Discussion / Re: Your character is after you, How doomed are you?
« on: April 23, 2014, 12:33:10 am »
Hmm...
Last charrie I remember logging into is a short Mausujin (basically the mouse version of a neko) who uses gloves with spikes on the end of a finger tips and a dagger to kill pretty much anything that bothers her, and also really good at stalking and spying.

Only thing is she's pretty calm and out to attack other players human/oids, so I'm safe unless she has a reason. XD

I wasn't sure which type of wolf you need more of, so I made two applications.
I don't really care what one is accepted, because they're both fine to me.
This is mainly because I know groups like this tend to have more under things such as 'Demon' and 'Shadow' then 'Angel'

Character Name: Syllas
Forum/Ingame Name: Coalara-The-Eevee / wizardmymom
Age: 3 1/2 Years
Gender: Female
Breed: Demon
Element: Earth
Personality: Syllas is the quiet type, often just sitting in the corner and observing rather then going out and doing the fighting. She, in all honesty, considers herself more along the lines of a 'supportive' fighter rather then a go-out-and-attack-everything type. While she often listens to what she's told, Syllas is internally a rebel to those orders she doesn't agree with. Syllas likes to stay alone, not trusting herself with other's safety.
History: Born to simple wolves, she often stayed out of the way of her siblings. She was the only female in her litter, and all of her siblings constantly pushed her around, for being female and being smaller then them all. Her mother taught her to just go with what they and their father said, to not question them- externally. And so that's what she did. Syllas, after turning 1 year old, left her family in search of someplace better to go. She joined a coalition not too long after, and stayed with them until she turned 3. However, during that time, she learned to perfect her magical arts to use in aid of others, rather then going and doing the fighting. It was this that saved her life, when the 4 wolf coalition she was in died in a fight with some wild beasts. Keeping to herself about the incident, Syllas tries not to remember watching them all die in front of her. But, it was that incident that lead her to not join a coalition ever again, in fear the same would happen.
RP Sample: Syllas walked along the lonely, muddy shoreline of the river, casting her glance down to her paws. The wolf kicked a stone softly into the river, watching it vanish into the raging rapids and become lost forever. It was a good analogy for her life, she decided. A simple kick, a simple gesture- and the ones you did so to end up becoming lost forever. Shaking her head, the demon kept going. Syllas was sick and tired of thinking this way, but couldn't help it. It was that incident, that one time, that had caused her entire world to flip. And that was the way she would stay, forever, and she didn't care.

Character Name: Hitoshi
Forum/Ingame Name: Coalara-The-Eevee / wizardmymom
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Male
Breed: Angel
Element: Wind
Personality: Hitoshi is a very calm, even tempered wolf who's very laid back.
History: Hitoshi was born to a common family, very similar to an Earth wolf pack. The two in charge- the parents- taking charge over all the children and keeping them under their careful eye. That was their custom, in their family, and so Hitoshi learned to simply listen. One of his old siblings, named Aimi, taught him patience and planning, to avoid to what happened to the rest of her litter. Spending his first year in a blissful ignorance, he enjoyed the company of Aimi and the rest of his 'pack'. However, as soon as he reached one year, he was forced out due to over crowding. Shocked, Hitoshi wandered on his own for about 3 months until meeting with two lone siblings out in the woods. After asking them if they wished to come with him, they gladly accepted, and Hitoshi became an 'alpha' so to speak. He lead the two younger ones around, and ended up with a full out coalition. He had to be taught how real groups worked, which took some time. Hitoshi decided that they would raid a nearby lair, hoping to earn a place to live and a good fight. His light approach and comical way of wording it easily made the others agree, and they went. As they entered, they found themselves lost in an endless labyrinth created by beasts of the area. As they went to turn around, the group found themselves surrounded and ambushed. Him and another made it out, while the others were trapped, lost, or eaten back in the caves. The two split, knowing one was a useless leader, and the other a lying crook. And so, Hitoshi wanders around,
RP Sample: Hitoshi wandered the plains and hills, looking around the endless landscape. It was so large, so endless. Like his 3 year life seemed to be, at least, to him. He could barely remember his old coalition, his first life. And then, his second one, like a large scar, still festering under his long, wavy fur. The male walked along, looking across the horizon to a setting sun. He wished he could just vanish like that, just begone and not return until he wanted to. Until he knew it was time to come out again like a little bird poking out of a little egg. That made him laugh slightly, unable to keep himself from trying to cheer himself up. Waving his tail around and letting the winds blow out his fur, he smiled and kept walking. No matter how endless the world, or life, here he was, as himself. And there was nothing he could do about it, so better make the most out of it, aye?

Sorry if they're all a bit long. ^~^'
Also, I will be unable to log in for x amount of time, due to my stupid FH not opening, so I'll have to redownload.

I think my current favorite charrie is....
Erza Lantha.

She was my main charrie in my RP, Bestia Magia.
Honestly, I mainly enjoyed using her shy and modest personality to pick on her secretly OOC, and also for some funny as heck encounters with other magic users.
She was a pretty original character, save the (first) name, which I took from the anime Fairy Tail.
Erza's shy personality mixed with the fact that she was leader of the largest guild led to some pretty funny events, and over all, she was just a joy to RP.

Game Discussion / Re: What are your favorite names for characters?
« on: April 03, 2014, 09:37:07 pm »
I tend to use a large array of names, but I have a few that I often use when I'm too lazy to make a random name:

FEMALE
Anahi
Syllas
Selvira
Elorain
Coalara

MALE
Garent
Farian
Flavious
Druid
Farious

I made up all of them, in my mind.
While I'm pretty sure all of them have been used in books or whatever, in my world, they're mine. XD

Game Discussion / Re: Warrior Cat Rps? The Input
« on: April 01, 2014, 11:10:57 pm »
I've noticed this too, mainly because I've been a group leader before, and still am.

Let me try to explain:

It's a war.
All it is, is a war.
Group leaders are ALWAYS fighting over members, so that they become the most popular, active, largest group.
From what I've noticed, most group leaders don't even care about RPing much anymore.
All they care about is the numbers.

It's like in middle/highschools (from what I've heard).
Most popular kids aren't even being themselves, they're using a fake front to try and become popular, even if they don't care.
It's the fact that they hold the title of 'popular' that makes it worth giving up yourself.

It's similar with /most/ group leaders.
They pretend that their group is active and fully literate.
I've joined RPs where the group/group leader NEVER RPs!
They just sit there and chat the entire time.

It's what happened to TWR.
They took the 'Best WC Group!' 'Most Active and Popular WC RP!' and other praises too highly.
When I joined towards the peak of their RP, I sat in the map for 3 HOURS and never RPed, only OOC.
TWR claimed to be the best, most active, literate RP there is, but they don't even RP.
They put up a fake front to make themselves seem cooler.

Back to the topic at hand, it has to do with what's above.
Group leaders see how many members they can get to waste 2 or 3 hours sitting by them, just to never RP.
When a group leader notices another of the same has called out upon a piece of 'valuable' member space, they MUST take it from them.
They have to get that member, or else that other clan will become better than them!
So, they ask the same person to get them to join their clan and not that other one.
But, leader A, who asked first, gets angry because leader B is taking their member.
So a war starts.

While group leaders many not think about this, it's really what's going on.
Me, along with quite a few of my group leader friends, try to avoid this.
We made an RP to RP, if we get 5 members or 36 doesn't matter.
We're RPing? Great! That's what I want.

But from what I've seen, others don't think the same.
They want to become the most popular, most active group there is for bragging rights, nothing more.
And because of this, wars break out.

That's the best answer I can give you, and it's also kinda a rant.
So sorry. XD
