How d'you like, 'name' a link?
« on: November 01, 2013, 12:24:37 pm »
I have seen many members in this community have a link in their signature that doesn't say the url. How do I do that?

X Linking With Pictures And Text X

Okay, so, linking. It's pretty easy to just copy and paste the URL into the page, but for a more fancier look, you could simply link something with text or a picture! So to start, let's try with some text.

x x x

Let's say I wanted to link the FH homepage with some text. First off, you need the URL.

http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=1

When you have your URL, come up with some funky text. In this case, I'll just use "Click me!" as an example.

Now, here comes the good part! After you make up some text and have your URL, simply put this in your page.

[.url=YOUR URL]TEXT[/url]

x x x

Now, you would copy the FH homepage URL where it says YOUR URL and put "Click me!" where it says TEXT.

When you do that, it would look something like this!

Click me!

If you don't want to do those steps and you're lazy you can go to this site for quick links!

When you learned how to link with text, you can try with pictures!

First off, you need a picture, right? Let's say I wanted to use this bunny picture.

Now, we need to link it with a page or anything you want. We're using the homepage as an example again.

http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=1

Now, we need this code.

[.url=YOURLINK/][.img]YOUR PICTURE[/img][/url]

After you have it, put the according things in the BBCode, and you should get something like this!

Hope this helped!

This should help you. It's from my tutorial.
