Crater Savannah
I know this map isn't really a savannah (A savannah is a land with grass and scattered trees or a canopy of trees), but when I started making the map, I couldn't really remember what a savannah is, so I just called it a savannah; sorry about that. I'm just putting this here so people won't start saying "OMG U LIAR THIS IS NOT A SAVANNAH".
A large, open desert-like area that is often hit by large meteorites. Crater Savannah has many rocks, some large, some small. It sometimes rains here, filling the craters the meteorites left with water. Some trees grow here, including palm trees near the water-filled craters. Some of the craters can be used as dens. One of the craters is home to the healer lioness, Mgangi, who lives there. There is a very large meteorite still left in one of the craters in one of the corners of the land.

Crater Savannah is my most recent map project. I started it a few days ago, as the maps I started recently haven't been very interesting/I just don't want to continue. I decided to create Crater Savannah, and so far, I've been doing pretty good in making it. Progress is going along pretty quickly, and I hope to have it finished in a few days or so. Like I said in the description above ^, this map is also the home to my lion character, Mgangi. She lives in a den in a part of the map; You may not use this den unless I specifically say you can. Also, I may make dens claimable some time.

Map size: 10000 (Yes, I make huge maps; I don't make them well unless they're gigantic :P)
Map height: 600 (I also make my maps really tall xD)
Ocean?: Nope, the map would be screwed up if there was one

Screenshots

The center of the map is a crater with water in it. Many palm trees and plants have grown around it, along with some rocks.

Inside the den that I was sitting on in the picture above. It's nice for just relaxing in, or even sleeping in. There's a great view outside the den, as well.

Underwater animals, you're not forgotten, either! There's a nice log den... thing underwater with leaf bedding in it. There are also plenty of plants for eating.

More screenshots to come soon; it's getting late and I don't want to upload any more right now.

Thank you for viewing this map made by me. I hope you will enjoy roleplaying or just exploring in it when it comes out. Thanks! ~DarkMist

Game Help / Patch not doing anything?
« on: December 29, 2011, 01:30:07 am »
Whenever my friend downloads the newest patch and runs it, nothing happens. Literally, it acts like nothing ever happened. She's tried re-downloading, tried multiple times, tried deleting it and re-trying, nothing seems to work. She's really eager to play FH again, so can someone please help her? Thanks in advance.

Species / The Tunnel Wolves
« on: October 29, 2011, 06:42:58 am »
                                                                  The Tunnel Wolves
                                                                          History
The Tunnel Wolves appeared first in 1924, and they were almost completely unknown then. They were first discovered by a hunter who was looking for deer and fell into one of their tunnels. Luckily, the only wolves in there at the time were 3 pups. The hunter took one of them and went back to the small village he lived in. The people in the village saw how soft and colorful its pelt was, and went out to find more of the wolves. They found a small pack of them, but they were too fast for the hunter's weapons- spears and small stone blades. They made a bow and arrow, and used it to hunt the wolves. They killed all of the wolves in the pack, and searched for more packs. They found only two more packs, and killed all the wolves in them. The remaining wolves were furious, and in the middle of the night, they ran into the village and destroyed the houses with their sharp fangs and claws, and killed all of the humans in them. Having gotten their revenge, they went back to their tunnels, and hunters never returned after that.
                                                                            Behavior
Tunnel Wolves are very social wolves. They sometimes form small packs, usually containing 5-10 wolves. They're often lead by a male and female pair, the Alphas, with the Betas being their pups. Not all of them are in packs, though- There are about as many lone Tunnel Wolves as there are in packs. They can be aggressive when defending their pack, but are normally gentle, not attacking others. They are also somewhat shy, especially the loners.
                                                                            Appearance
Tunnel Wolves are usually dark-colored, with small patches of lighter colors here and their. Their main color is black or a very dark blue. The male's markings and mane are a dark or light red or orange-ish color, and the female's are blue. Their tail tips are always white.

Reproduction and Taking Care of Young
When a female Tunnel Wolf is ready to mate, its voice will be higher-pitched, and its tail tip will turn pink. It will run outside its den and howl loudly to attract the attention of a male. Once a male hears the howl, it will howl back and run towards the female, following the sound of its howl. When the male reaches the female, he will enter the female's den, and they will stand opposite sides, then walk exactly two circles around, examining each other. When they finish, the male will roll onto his back, exposing his neck. If the female does not accept him, she will bite the male's neck and kill him. If she accepts him, she will lick his nose and neck gently. She will then lay on her stomach, and they will mate. After mating, the male will stay with the female for as long as he likes. He may stay forever, or leave after mating. The female is pregnant for 6 months, and when she is about to give birth, she will let our a loud, high-pitched howl, then run into her den. After giving birth, the pups are gray, blind, and deaf. They will feed off of their mother's milk for 2 months, then they can hear, see, and eat solid foods. They will learn to hunt at 6 months old, and at 1 year old, they will leave to find or start a pack, a den, and a mate, and start the whole cycle over again.
                                                                              Map:
Yes, ladies and gentlewolves, there will be a map. Sadly, it is not finished yet. We will be living in Ficho Tunnel before the map is done. The map should be up within the next 2 days or so, so you won't be waiting long!

Game Help / Height Map won't load
« on: October 05, 2011, 03:11:45 am »
When I try to load a height map, the Feral Heart window closes automatically, then "Feralheart.exe has stopped working..." pops up, and then it closes after a few seconds. I've tried loading the height map about 5 times, and it just won't work. I've been able to load height maps before, and it's never done this before. Help?

Game Help / FH lagging randomly?
« on: July 27, 2011, 01:43:44 am »
Alright, so when I started FH just now, it was lagging. Not un-playable lagging, just lagging enough to make it irritating. I turned view distance all the way down (Did nothing) Turned water reflection off (Did nothing), switched my rendering subsystem to OpenGL (Made it insanely laggy- I changed back though), and changed video mode, but it's still laggy. I did read everything in http://feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=3388.0 but it didn't help. Is there anything I could do without having to update my graphics card? FH hasn't lagged at all before, so I don't know what to do.

EDIT: Someone can lock this now. The lag's gone.
