Game Discussion / Cannibalistic Groups
« on: August 09, 2017, 12:07:51 am »
What are your thoughts on cannibalistic roleplay groups? What are your thoughts on those packs, prides, or clans thats purpose and story is based around eating animals of their own species?

Game Discussion / Who is Accountable for Behavior in a Group?
« on: May 28, 2017, 01:45:05 am »
Why do I bring up this question? It has to do with personal experience I've had in game as well as what I've seen before.

Being the leader of a roleplay group pride/pack/clan/herd can be stressful. Been there, done that. Not everyone in the group is going to follow the rules of the game or the rules of the group from time to time. It happens. I once had a few members of my clan go around trolling people, and those people would come to me and say, "Hey! Why are your people over here bugging us? You need to control them! They are disrupting our chat/roleplay. Do something!" Wait a second.... since when is it MY responsibility for what another user is doing. Sure they are part of my RP group, but I'm not their babysitter. I cannot control what they are doing. Why not hold them accountable for what they are doing?
Rules of the game say that people are responsible for their own actions on this site and game. When it comes to group conduct, who is responsible for the actions of the members of the group? Is it the leader, or the individuals themselves?

Game Discussion / Family Roleplays
« on: February 02, 2017, 09:20:16 pm »
There are plenty of roleplays out there that are family-based. What type of family do you usually find yourself roleplaying in?

Mother + Father + biological child/children?
Mother + Father + Adopted child/children?
Same gender couple + Adopted child/children?
Single Parent + Child?
Single Parent + Adopted Child?
A large family that has parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc?
An adopted family?
Foster family?
A circle of friends that see each other as family?

For me, I usually am part of a single parent and their biological child roleplay, or two parents and their child roleplay. Both seem common and fun. What sort of family do you find yourself in the most?

Finished Maps / ??White Wolf Falls?? Public Snow Map!
« on: July 23, 2016, 10:14:50 pm »
Hello. Are you looking for a winter map?
Do you need a snowy map for your husky or wolf pack to play on?
Need a wintery getaway to the frozen Arctic circle?
Do you wanna build a snowman?

If you've answered yes to any of these questions, then you need....

??White Wolf Falls??

This map was designed for anyone who enjoys a snowy setting in Feral Heart. Any and all roleplayers and members are welcome to enjoy this public map to use as their roleplay setting, or just to hang out. The map includes waterfalls, hidden caves, dens, forests, mountain tops, geysers, streams, rivers, sinkholes, and plenty of snow! I have provided some screenshots to show you some features of White Wolf Falls.

Looks fun, doesn't it? There's one more thing I must mention. This are a couple of rules that I have applied to this map.
Rules!:
1. DO NOT claim this map as your own.
2. DO NOT try to claim this map as a private map for you and your pack/pride/clan etc. This is a PUBLIC map. That means you have to share!
3. The Feral Heart game rules apply to this map as well.

If I see any behavior that breaks the rules of the game, you will be reported.

The Link!

Go out and have fun in the snow. Enjoy your stay at White Wolf Falls!

I had designed a map in the Feral Heart map maker. When I finished the map, I hit the 'Export' button. Everything was working okay, but I could not log into the game. I had to restart, but every time I try to open the game it immediately crashes. This sometimes happens after I get done exporting a map. What should I do?

Game Discussion / Bad Parents?
« on: April 18, 2016, 08:42:47 pm »
This may seem like an odd topic, but it's based on some experiences I've recently encountered in the game. So here we go.

Have you, or someone you know, has been accused of being a bad parent for a silly reason? I have. I've had it said to me, and I've seen it said to other people OOC. I wish I would have taken a screenshot of some of these ridiculous accusations, especially considering that this is all just part of a game, and not reality.

Story one: I was sitting and talking with a friend, and there were dragon characters all around us. A dragon egg was laying by itself in a shrub nearby. An adult dragon came along and wanted to investigate the egg, and the mother dragon of the egg warned him not to get too close OOC. If he got too close, the mother dragon would become protective, so she said it was best to stay away. He said OOC that he meant no harm, but just wanted to investigate the egg. Suddenly, another dragoness said OOC "You're a bad mother for leaving the egg all alone like that. No offense."  So then a huge argument began over what that dragoness said. Things were said like,
"It's MY egg, it's my responsibility!"
"You're still a bad mom."
"She can leave me in the shrub if she wants to."
"That's right. I designed this dragon species. So don't tell me how my species needs to raise their young."
The argument went on and on over a pretend mother-offspring relationship, until some people began to block each other. It's not even a real life situation, yet some got all bent out of shape over it. It was just a roleplay. No child was in danger.
 ::)

Same thing happened to me and a friend when we were roleplaying our dragons, deer, foxes. or unicorns. There would be times when me, playing the role of the mother,  would leave her offspring unattended to forage for food. There would be times a random player would say that my character was a bad parent for leaving the child alone so my character could go hunting/foraging.
 ::)

I was just sitting there astounded. I guess some don't realize that it's normal for some animals to leave their babies unattended. In nature, mother deer leave their fawns alone while they go out to graze. Mothers will leave their young alone in the den while they go out to hunt for food. Does that make mother deer, wolves, bobcats, bears, birds, foxes, etc bad mothers for doing something that is pretty much NORMAL to them? It's just their way of surviving. Animal mothers are not like human mothers.

Has this ever happened to you? Or have you seen something like this happen in the game.

Game Discussion / Color Description in Name. Is This Necessary?
« on: March 09, 2016, 09:15:04 pm »
I've seen a few characters out in FH with character names like "Toni WhiteWolf" or "Lacy SilverFox", "Lisa Pink Lion", "snow white tiger". Those are just examples. Is it really necessary to put your character's color in your character name? I think not. I mean, it's kind of obvious your tiger is white, or a white lion, or a black wolf, or a creme stallion, why feel the need to take up space in your character name to point out a fairly obvious trait? What's the point of that? I'm just curious.
Do you think it's necessary?

I was going through Facebook when I saw this video posted in my news feed. I gave it a listen and recognized this familiar tune you hear in Feral Heart. Pretty amazing performance.  :D

Game Discussion / Infertile Characters?
« on: January 18, 2016, 08:13:58 pm »
I suppose there are some characters out in the game who cannot produce offspring. I know I have one; a husky who has an owner, and his owner had him fixed (neutered) at a young age. It's just a small characteristic to my character, but apparently it's a bad trait. One female husky, who was flirting and making the moves on my character, pretty much said my character was "damaged goods" and undesirable, all because he cannot produce offspring. So apparently my character is not "fixed", but "broken" to some.
Just because he can't be a father to pups doesn't make him a worthless or meaningless character. Why should it matter, really?

Apparently to some people in this community, a character that is unable to be a mother or a father is no good, or meaningless. I've actually seen someone say something along the lines of "What's the point in having a character like that? Where's the fun in that? No one will want to be your mate." Maybe they don't want a mate, did you ever think about that? Why does it matter? Who are we to tell people what they should or shouldn't do with their characters?

Sorry if I'm going into a rant here, but what do you think of this? Do you have any characters like this?

Game Discussion / Revenge of the Rejects?
« on: January 13, 2016, 04:26:24 am »
Sounds like a strange title for a topic, but I didn't know what else to call it...

Anyway. We've all probably been rejected in Feral Heart by some form or way. We're all probably familiar with those we like to call mate-beggers, parent-beggers, family-beggers, or just people who want to join in on a roleplay. Often times they end up getting rejected,  but have you ever had someone try to get back at you or get "revenge" for being rejected? There have been cases where I, or someone else, politely said "No thank you" to someone wanting a mate or a parent, and they suddenly turn around and try to "hurt" or "kill" my character by means of powerplay.

Scenario One:
Me and a friend were roleplaying our dragon characters. I was the mother dragon, and my friend was the unhatched baby dragon (in a dragon egg). One ice dragoness wanted to come close to our little dragon family, and I stayed in character by playing out as the protective mother dragon. My dragon character was warning the stranger dragoness not to come to close to the nest, because she was just being a protective mother. Well then the dragoness started roleplaying on how she wanted to harm the egg by "freezing it with her ice magic". Since my dragon character didn't accept her near her nest, the ice dragoness wanted to get back at us by bringing harm to the unborn hatchling.

Scenario Two:
There was a time where a flying cub (Idk what it was, maybe just a lion cub with wings) that wanted to be adopted by our dragon family. When we politely told them no, they got upset and started trying to kill the baby dragon by means of powerplay. "Rips the hatchling away from its parents and tears his wings off and bites its throat!" We ended up  blocking them because they were disrupting our roleplay.

Scenario Three:
I witnessed a female wolf character asking a male canine character to be her mate. He and his friend kept telling her that he was not interested in being her mate. She walked off for awhile, then came back and tried to kill his character to get back at him. They ended up blocking her when she wouldn't stop harassing them. Even after she was blocked, she was all like, "I don't care. I still killed you!"

Scenario Four:
A long time ago when I was roleplaying as a grey fox vixen in a grey fox group, my character declined  the advances of a male grey fox when he asked her to be his mate. He logged off, then logged back on with a winged character that had the name "Greyfox Killer" in it. He tried hunting and killing my character as well as all the other grey foxes in the group. One of his friends whispered me and said that he was upset that no one would be his mate.

Sometimes it makes me wonder why some players would want to do that. Really what's the point of trying to harass those that declined your offer by means of "getting revenge"? Have you ever had something like this happen to you, or have you ever witnessed something like this? Any stories to share?
