Maps problem (solved)
« on: January 06, 2017, 11:19:13 pm »
Hi,
I have a problem with the maps. After I put all the files in the right place in the FH folder and go to Cape of Distant Worlds the portal of the maps doesn't show.
I tryed so many times to reinstall the game and reinstall the maps but i always have the same problem.
Can some help, please?

By in the FeralHeart folder, do you mean the exports folder under the FeralHeart folder (C:\FeralHeart\exports)? All .fhm and .fho files go in there

The new portal textures are also very difficult to see, you may just be missing them. You can download a darker portal texture here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/heyz65v92xu7x07/portal.png

Simply place the image in your FH>media>textures folder and hit "Replace" when prompted to do so. If the map portal still isn't showing up, make sure you try as Morgra said and make sure you're placing ALL .fhm and .fho files in your FH>exports folder.

You are amazing <3

Yes, I put the map's files in the FH folder in C: and also the exports file in the exports folder, if there're other files like sound, texture ecc.. I put them in the other folder

And I am pretty sure that I don't see them beacuse they don't show not because the portals are difficoult to see, I went on this forum to check before posting and I saw how they are

Sorry if there're grammatical errors, I'm just learning english :3

Ah see. You have to put the .fhm file, AKA the map file, in exports. All files go in exports.

Edit: Also be sure you are putting the files in the exports folder and not the folder themselves. Meaning just put what is inside the folder, all those files into exports.

I put the .fhm file in the exports folder, I was talking abut the .mp3, .sky and the other files like these that have a different collocation :3

Also, when I download a map, for the files there's their collocation, or on a ReadMe or just with a folder :3

Yes, there are usually ReadMe files in the zips of maps. If not, as for the two file types you were wondering about, .sky files go in FeralHeart>media>sky. .mp3 files either go in FeralHeart>media>music or FeralHeart>media>sounds depending on the instructions. If it doesn't indicate which one of the two folders to put it in, put it in both. As for any files that start with ".fh" such as .fhm (as mentioned before), .fho, .fhs, and .fhw all go in exports.

You're welcome! I can only hope that we can figure out the problem.

Could you have a firewall of some sorts that blocks the map files in the folder? This is very unlikely, but still worth a shot at looking at

Mmm, I don't know but I think no....

But... The maps need to be updated since the new update? Or all can work... ?
Because... Before the update I didn't have problems like this :3
