Finished Maps / Wolves of the Beyond Maps (too many images?)
« on: March 21, 2012, 12:41:25 am »
I made some maps of The Beyond from Wolves Of The Beyond and some of them are now public!
(With extra credit to my friend brightpath who helped make these )

Map Rules:
- General game rules apply.
- Realistic animals and colours preferred. (Wolves, Bears, Owls, Cougars, Deer/Elk/Moose, etc.)
- Fan made non-canon characters are welcome.
- You are free to use these maps for roleplays as long as you don't claim them as your own.
- Unless it's part of a RP, please try not to fight. If two groups want the map, try taking turns or using different areas.

Why these maps are public:
I remodeled two main maps, and added the Pit, but I didn't want to ditch the old ones.

Screenshots:
The Ring of Volcanoes

The Blood Watch Area

The Cave Before Time

The only exciting thing in the Cave Before Time

The Pit

The Map for the Pit (there is now a public version!)

Old Cags and Edme in The Pit (for fun)

Game Discussion / Re: Crazy and Random FH Sightings
« on: March 10, 2012, 02:05:21 am »
I've noticed that a lot of people like to make FH versions of fictional characters. I've seen Balto characters, MLP characters, and Lion King characters are especially common on Bonfire. I even saw the Phantom of the Opera and Slender Man (those guys were awesome).

Not wanting to be left out, I made Moby-Dick and Bigwig from Watership Down. :3
you want fictional?
I've seen TONS of pokemon.

I've also seen the odd "Human".

rear up on hind legs
There could be two versions of that. Rear up (like a horse), stand up (like a bear/the one I need)
? sit up (basicly begging)

? Pose (like a German Shapherd, for canines)

? Handstand (random. But cool)

? Breakdance (again, random. But cool)
? sneeze
? Eat? (random.... But I see people RPing it alot)

I've seen a toilet before. .3. That was probably the wierdest thing I've ever seen in my time on FeralHeart.
A toilet? LOL where was that?
I recently (like a week or two ago) saw a bunch of ones in an animal testing facility (sp?) (including two of my friends) called Hysteria 346 They even made a group!
They looked like this:

Site/Forum Help / Secure Content?
« on: February 26, 2012, 04:18:22 am »
It was fine until it started saying "Only showing secure content" on nearly every page I try to go to!
On the forums it says:

Please Don't Block Our Ads
They Keep The Game Free For You To Play

I don't block ads. I don't even know HOW!
and if I tell it to show "All Content" it forces me to refresh the page.
This is really annoying!  >:(
How do I make it stop?!
(I can't post smilies with it there, I have to refresh and rewrite my post! xP)

Game Help / Re: "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working," on HeightMaps
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:14:51 pm »
Try flattening it. ;)
Flattening is removing layers (I think some people call them "Alpha Channels"). If you are trying to make your hightmap specific, and use another image on top for a guide, the other image is another layer. I think making specific maps mostly how that happens.
My friend had that problem when they did their hightmap (crashing), so I tried flattening it, then it worked perfectly.

Game Help / Re: My Map won't show in The Cape Of Distant Worlds
« on: February 24, 2012, 08:53:56 pm »
If you mean you want your friends to be able to go to your map, they have to download it.
if there are fho files those are items in your map, and you might want to include those in the download if you have meshes and stuff in the map.
other files to include (if there are any) :
.fhm (the map - Always need to be in there!)
.fho  (items in the map. if there are meshes and stuff in the map, put those in, or your friends will NOT see the items)
.fhw (these are custom weather cycles I think. But beware, I've heard custom weather may crash other people.)
.fhs (these are custom skys (sp?). But beware, I've heard custom skys (sp?) may crash other people.)

Here is a full totorial from the "maps" section.
How to upload a map that YOU made, so other people can download it and explore it

Before you even start, make sure to press the 'export' button in mapmaker.

First, you must have a program called WinRar. This is a free and safe program, and you can download it Here

Secondly go to My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > FeralHeart > Exports

In this folder, there will be files. The game has told you what it exported when you hit export. It definitely exported a '.fhm' file and one or a few '.fho' files, and possibly a '.fhs' and '.fhw' file. The '.fhm' file is the map info itself. The .fho is the objects files and info, the .fhs is the sky (if you put in a custom one) and the .fhw is the weather file (again, if you put in a custom one.) Drag all these files out onto your desktop. Right click on the .fhm file. Once you have right clicked on it, hover you mouse over 'send to' and then click 'Compressed (zipped) Folder'. A message might pop up, click yes. Then, drag all the other files into this zipped folder as well.

Next, go to Mediafire. You may create an account if you wish, but it's not compulsory. Upload the ZIP file you made to this website. When you've done that, post the link on your thread. People will now be able to download your map. There are other websites like Mediafire, such as Rapidshare.

How to download other people's maps and install them correctly

Click on the link posted on someone's thread and download the file to your computer. Save it on your desktop or anywhere else you wish. This file will most likely be a ZIP folder. If you're unable to open it, download WinRARp.

Once you open it, you'll fine a few files inside. The most important is the .fhm file.

Go to My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > FeralHeart > Exports. Drag ALL the files into this folder, unless otherwise instructed by the user's 'ReadMe' file (if included).

Game Help / Re: Water smoke not appearing in game
« on: February 24, 2012, 08:37:59 pm »
You did better then me. :-\ When I tried to put smoke in the volcanoes in my map, the game blew up and I had to reinstall it >xP

Sometimes you have to save and re-export a map before some items show up.
