Game Help / Re: FH+ appears malicious?
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:00:58 am »
OMG when I got FH+ it kinda freaked and said "this file may harm your computer" or something to that effect.
So I dismissed the notice and ran a security scan on it and it said it was perfectly fine. I was like: WHAT!? ???
and things went fine afrerwords.
My computer only freaked on that one. The original one was fine.

Does it delete it when you try to open it? if that's what it does, try opening the folder it downloaded to, right-clicking on it, and tell it to run a security scan on it. It should say it's fine, then try opening it.
(I'll warn you: Most of the maps were taken out, Getting lost in the new ficho is easier than reading a forum,  when you make a character you can't give it wings [but you can use winged characters from the original version], I don't think the characters you make will work in the original version, you have to move all of your animals to bonfire before switching or you will get a black screen, and the few scenes that are left change. ALOT.)

Game Help / Re: FH quits working on Heightmaps

Flattening an image is combining it with the background so you can't drag it around.

Quote
The Flatten Image command merges all of the layers of the image into a single layer with no alpha channel.
After the image is flattened, it has the same appearance it had before. The difference is that all of the image contents are in a single layer without transparency. If there are any areas which are transparent through all of the layers of the original image, the background color is visible.

This operation makes significant changes to the structure of the image. It is normally only necessary when you would like to save an image in a format which does not support levels or transparency (an alpha channel).

Hope this helps.

Thanks!
I think the user put the wrong files in the download, because the files from the terrain folders (including the hightmaps and masks) without the .map file were in the download, instead of the fhm, fho, etc.

Thanks!
I forgot to ask one question:
When I download someone else's map, Where do I dump the files?
(well, not dump, :-\ but where do they go?)
I downloaded two [rather large] sets and nither had those file types.... does mean they won't work? :(

I finally figured out how to make my own map!
But I still have questions:

Do people have to download the map to go into it?
(I know it's a dumb question.... :P )

Would I have to include the hight map, mask, and the rest of that in the download, or only the "fhm" file in the export folder?

If someone downloaded it, would it show up in their map maker?
(there is a special area on my map I don't want copied :( )

If someone who downloaded the map went into the area, and I was already there, would we be able to see each other?
(Basicly meeting my friends in my map without other users chatting in the background. ::) )
