Pride Sitehttp://spartanprideoffh.proboards.com/index.cgiHISTORY:Once a upon a time, lived a pride of strong and cunning lions. They defeated everyone and everything effortlessly. But there came a time they met another pride - a pride with extreme intelligence. They were called the Athens. The Athens and the Spartans were instant enemies. Many lives were lost, blood wasted in an endless feud. Neither pride won, both retreating into the shadows to recover from their wounds. Few Spartans remained, leaving only the Queen and a few members themselves. The Queen quickly passed away, leaving her young son, Kali in charge of the pride.
RULES:1. Be respectful to other members. IC you may act as you wish, but don't carry out IC fights into OOC.
2. Don't godmod, powerplay, or autohit. Members will be punished for doing so.
3. No swearing OOC. IC is fine, as long as you keep it mild.
4. Sundays are our official roleplay days. If you miss 3 without a valid excuse, you wll be erased from the group.
5. We both RP and talk in OOC. For RP, you need to post AT LEAST 2 sentences per post. Also, we RP in third person. I don't want things like, *Walks up to you and sighs*. Also, you must use " marks to show speech. If that button doesn't work for you, please find a mark to replace it. Also * are not permitted. So finally, here's a good example of an RP post. Ex~ Kali exhaled deeply, his heart set on one thing only. And that was revenge. "It's time they learn their place." he muttered in disgust, his eyes blazing with anger.

KALI'S RULES:1. Obey your leaders and their orders at all times.
2. Mate within the pride. No exceptions. Anyone who breaks this rule will be banished from the pride.
3. Injuring/killing other members is prohibited. You MUST ask the member for permission first, otherwise you will be punished.

RANKS:King & Queen: The leaders of the pride. They have the final word in anything and are expected to be followed.
Heir: The eldest male of the King & Queen's offspring. They are next in line for the throne.
Council: Members who have earned the trust of the King & Queen and show great intelligence are promoted to this rank. Others are to treat council members almost as they treat the King & Queen.
Shaman: The healers of the pride. They have vast knowledge of herb remedies and such. They are highly respected because of their important role.
Captain: The male lion in charge of the warriors. They must have knowledge of attack methods and strategies. This rank is highly important to the entire pride.
Warriors: The lions that protect the pride from attack. They are the very strong and intelligent, needing quick reflexes for battle.
Shadow Warriors: The few lions of the pride that are trained to be quick and silent. They are deadly to the enemy because of their skill and perfect combat techniques. Shadow warriors are the elite warriors of the army. They are used mainly as a secret weapon during battles.
Top Hunter: The lead hunter. They organize hunting parties and keep the pride well fed.
Hunters: The lions that do the actual hunting for the pride. Without them, the pride wouldn't last for long.
Lead Scout: The lead scout. They organize groups for patrols and assign scouts to send messages to other prides and packs.
Scouts: The lions that both deliver messages and patrol our territory.
Trainee: Cubs over the age of 8 months that train for whatever rank of their choice.
Cubs: The future generation. That's why only the toughest of them survive. They must prove their worth to the pride before becoming a trainee. If they don't... they are left to fend for themselves.
Elders: The long-lived lions that hold high respect within the pride.
Mothers: Females move to this rank as they become pregnant. They move back to their original rank after their offspring become trainees.
CUSTOMS:When cubs are born, they are scratched across the face by their father. If the cubs crys out, they will be left by themselves in the harsh desert. If the cub stays quiet, then they will move on to live with the pride. These scars will fade by the time they become trainees.
When mentors feel their trainees are ready to become true Spartans, they will test the trainees in any way they wish. If the trainee passes, they then move to the rank they trained for. If they don't pass, then they will stay a trainee. If a lion doesn't earn a rank by the time they are 1 and 1/2 years old, they will be exiled from the pride. Worthless lions take the food from the rest of us.
In the month of may, to celebrate the oncoming warmth, lions paint each other with bright colors from squished berries and forage. This is the ONLY time unrealistic colors are allowed. Each lion is eligible to compete in a contest for the best design, earning a day of relaxation. This is called Mkali Rangi. (Meaning "Bright Colors" in Swahili)
Another holiday/celebration is Ya Jamii. (Meaning "The Races" in Swahili) This takes place at the end of the summer, and is a series of fast pace races. Scouts usaully have an advantage here, but being the Spartans comes with harsh military training. There is a sprint that simply goes along 1/4 of the perimeter. There is another race that is 1/2 the perimeter. Then there is also a race that runs around the perimeter 2 times and one that goes 4 times. Winners recieve a bright painted tail to show their achievement. They also have a higher chance of moving up a rank.
APPEARANCE:EyesSpartans generally have brown, golden, red, black, or yellow eyes. Blue and green eyes are VERY rare and require permission to use them for your character.
The eyes of Spartans are almost always slightly over average.
ColorsSpartan's pelts are generally golden/tan/beige/yellow orange. Permission must be granted for a white lion. The pelt CANNOT be changed to different colors during Mkali Rangi.
The colors of markings are usually vary from beige to dark brown. They are also permitted to have a blood red markings.
Tail tips must match the color of the mane for males. For females, it must be blood red to symbolize the strength of the Spartans.
Eye shadowing can be basically any color, just not neon. Id rather you stay to earthy colors, and red, white, and black.
MarkingsAlmost all markings are allowed except for other felines such as cheetahs and ligers. All of the lions in the Spartan pride are PURE lions. They are not a mix of any other species/race. Spartans that are not pureblood will be killed instantly. Keep the markings somewhat realistic please.
TailsSpartans ALWAYS have lion tails. No exceptions.
EarsAny ears that resemble a lion's is allowed. Ex. Normal ears/Ripped ears are fine. I prefer ripped ears to show our military based life.
The ears of Spartans vary, but are usaully above average due to their fine hearing.
ManesMale trainees must have a mane. Although they are not allowed to have a full mane until they pass the rank of a trainee. All mature males MUST have a full mane. Also, females, under no circumstance, are allowed to have manes. Only males have manes. It makes the gender of you character quite confusing.
SizeSpartans are generally large and strong due to much training. Runts and small "delicate" lions will be killed instantly.
