The Nypha
{nee-FAH}

ASK PERMISSION BEFORE MAKING A NYPHA
Basics
The Nypha are a specie of feline around the size of a bobcat. I created them while
derping around on FH. They make their homes in densely wooded forests and
jungles. Their light grey to white pelts don't help them camouflage-wise, but
they are stealthy and spend most of their time in the thick foliage of the trees.
If threatened, they will attack and kill, but are docile and will ignore most passerby.

Movement

~Solid Ground
On the ground, Nyphae can do the obvious; walk, run crawl and when their in a playful mood, a sort of prance.

~Jumping
Nypha are fantastic jumpers. Their bones are very light which enables them to jump from 15ft to 20ft in the air.

~Climbing
Their hooked claws allow them to latch onto trees and rocks. The Nypha have also perfected a sort of tree-jumping ability.

~Swimming
Nypha hate swimming, but that doesn't mean they can't do it. They're not great at it nor terrible at it.

Size
The average Nypha is no bigger that a bobcat. They're built for agility and stealth, not for combat. Their claws grow to be about 1in. long.

Vocalizations
Nypha can mew, grunt, purr, chirp, hiss, growl (like a cat), scream(like a fox), yowl, and (rarely) chuff.

Appearance
Nypha have thin pelts and rounded tails tipped with either white or grey. Their pelt colors range from white with light grey speckles, light grey with white markings, or albino.(which isn't uncommon) Males and females aren't easy to tell apart as their usually the same size, with the males being a bit larger. Kits are born pure white, they develop unique markings as the mature.

Behavior
The Nypha are passive creatures who only attack if threatened. The largest group you'll see is either a family or a group of adolescents. If you cross one, stay calm and it will most likely leave you be. If you cross a mother and her kits, stay at least 10 feet back and you can observe them safely without being attacked. When eating, one will probably approach you and beg for your food. If threatened by a single animal or human, it will pretend to submit then attack by clamping its jaws down on the threat's neck and wrestling it to the ground. After the opponent is weak it will leave it there to die.(Sorryitssocruel)

Predators
They have little to no predators, with the exception of being weak and dying from starvation.(Which is extremely rare)

Diet
Nypha eat mostly birds, squirrels and other tree dwelling animals. If there's no prey to be seen and one's really desperate, they'll resort to eating berries and the moss off of rocks, even bugs!

Pictures
Hope you enjoy! They're of the first Nyphae I made, Kiosyss and Ayame. (Most Nyphae have beautiful sounding names like Kiosyss, Mhrya, Trivv, and Ubelle. Only Kiosyss is mine, feel free to take the others.)

D'aww

Other lil facts:

*They have two rows of teeth
*Litters will stay together until adulthood
*Males compete by breaking sticks with their mouths; the biggest stick broken is the winner
*Nypha mate for life
*Nypha will defend their mate and kits at the cost of their own life.

I'll post a tutorial if you want me to.
