Belbus Aquae....
... Is a literate, realistic hyena roleplay with a medium-sized map. We are very literate, and require a good sized application to join. Show me some beefy apps! High ranks are still open, and I am looking for co-owners, so hurry in!

Member goal: 25

Magistrate -
Is in charge of the wars, with the help of the Head Eliminator. Often times, the Magistrate and Magistrae will let all the eliminators come for meetings on strategies. He is also in charge of appointing all ranks, though often the Tribe leaders will choose together. He also is in charge of checking up on the Subsequent and Male Trainee.
(One Open - Through Roleplay Only)

Magistrae -
Is mated to the Magistrate. She is in charge of giving birth and taking care of heirs, judging trials of sins, caring for the youthful, and helping train the female trainee. She checks up on the Subsequentess. She helps decide ranks. She is also the protector of the Omegas.
(Closed)

Heirs -
Daughters and sons of the Magistrate and Magistrae. The oldest male and female will take over if theirs parents die after they are at the age of two. If the oldest male or female is mated, then (s)he and her/his mate will take over instead. If the heirs are not older than two, the Betas will become The leader pair instead, and the heirs will be adopted as Youthfuls, and will become Customaries when fully grown.
(N/A)

Subsequent -
The Magistrate's right-paw hyena. Must be male. They are in charge of keeping the Customary in line. They also send all mating requests to the lead pair. They are often times mated to the Subsequentess. The suggest which pairs should be mated (forcefully) to the tribe rulers.
(Closed)

Subsequentess -
It is her job to make sure all of the tribe members are getting along, and punish them if they are not. She plays peace-keeper. Is the judge in trial when the Magistrae is unavailable.
(One open - Ask Bomai)

Trainee Male -
Is in training to become Subsequent. When the Subsequent turns 15 or dies, whichever first, he will become Subsequent. If 15, they will both be co-Subsequents together until one dies. Trains under the Subsequent and Magistate.
(Open)

Trainee Female -
Is in training to become Subsequentess. When the Subsequentess turns 15 or dies, whichever first, she will become Subsequentess. If 15, they will both be co-Subsequentesses together until one dies. Trains under the Subsequentess and Magistrae.
(Closed)

Eliminators -
Hyenas chosen by the Magistrate to serve as assassins. They often go on training routines every free night. All moves and training are done by the Head Eliminator.
(7 Open)

Head Eliminator -
Coordinates all practice hunts and/or attacks, and/or training routines. Works with the Magistrate and some with the Magistrae.
(One open through roleplay)

Customary -
The members of the tribe. Fight, hunt, live. They must have permission to do anything other than assigned duties. In their free time, anything is allowed so long as they do not leave the camp without another.
(Unlimited)

Omegas -
The most abused and mistreated members of the pack. They are often goofy, and it is their job to cheer up the tribe.
(Unlimited)

Stories / Abused and Deadly - Part 1
« on: September 07, 2011, 02:17:31 am »
I was not always evil. No. I used to be a good girl. I obeyed my Mother's orders. I did all the tricks my Masters' taught me. I got along with my sibling. I listened to Father's lectures with rapt attention. So where did it all go wrong? Well, I'm about to tell you.

"I hate you!" My Master screamed at me. My eyes felt moist. The carpet was rough underneath my paws. The whip had left a long streak of bleeding skin in it's wake. "Do the trick, dog!"
I whined, pawing the ground. I had done a flip for her. I had been a good dog. But I had failed to do a double flip. That was all that mattered. My heart felt like it would burst. I had tried many times. A puddle of blood now lay on the floor next to my limp body.
My mother shook her head slowly at me. I didn't understand. What had I done wrong? I whined once more, and she turned her back on me. Blood swelled up in my eyes as the child Master struck me in the eye socket over my eye with her pen. I could no longer see in one eye, so I closed it. It quickly sealed shut, glued by blood.
This was abuse. My father had taught me that word. 'Abuse it the way you get yourself killed.' He would tell us. He taught us how to growl warningly without feeling wrath of the whip. I tried, yet it did nothing. Other than a slap in the face with a whip.
"Shut up!" The child Master yelled at me. Oh, how I hated him at that moment. My father looked at me, and my siblings watched from under a dresser. We were only eight months old. The child was now resorting to tracing my lips with a knife. "Stupid Beagle." He muttered at me.
That was the last straw for mother. She started barking at the child, in a stalking position. My father stayed out of it, until the knife was thrown deep into my mother's skull. Then he attacked. My siblings started coming out, tail drooping, to help. Yet my father send them away. To run. To hide. To escape. And then, my father lunged for the child's throat.
"Stop!" The child's cry ended in a gurgle as it's life force slowly drained away. My father sniffed once, before turning to my mother. She was laying on the floor. She wasn't moving. She wasn't breathing. She was dead. My father told us to run with a snort, and we did. We ran. The Masters took my father to the vet, where we learned he was euthanized for dangerous behavior. My siblings were sold instantly. I was kept. And then I knew my life was out for me.
About the time I was ten months, my Masters decided that I was ready to be spayed. However, seeing as it was 1931, they were tight on money. So they decided to take the knife - The one my mother was murdered with - and chop off the whole area themselves instead. It hurt badly. The pain was unendurable. Yet each time I whined, my head would be pressed deeply against the ground. This wrenched my neck, leaving it hopeless for me to move.....

Prairie Dogs* is a group based on replicating a life on an abandoned prairie farm land for dogs. We accept only literate, experienced, realistically-enabled roleplayers into the group, and the packs inside of it may have their own - reasonable! - requirements for joiners. We have a few rules, including how to roleplay here, how not to roleplay here, forbidden things, unrealistic things, etc.

*Please note that these are not the rat prairie dogs,
they are dogs living on a prairie.

There are two packs, I am currently adverting for the first, Anotati Eidi.

Anotati Eidi is the pack that lives in the upper
mountains, which are lower to the ground, yet
farther north, and colder throughout the year.
However, they are still heated with the temperatures
of the prairie. This is a harsher, more spiteful
pack. With the dangerous female dog to lead
as Mistress of the pack, the whole area is not very
welcoming. However, they are the sole owners of the
upper mountains and the areas nearby, and were the
first to discover the unclaimed prairie. They are in
deep rival-ship with the other pack.
                                                      Ranks
Shepard

The Shepard is the prime ruler of the Anotati Eidi
Pack. He is the one who decides who shall be what
rank, with the advice of his mate, the Shepardess,
to  help him decide. He is also the only dog within
the pack who has the ability to mate with any
packmember of his choosing, including his
mate. The Shepard may mate with any
female in heat, as to reproduce quickly.
He chooses who may mate - both be
mated and have pups - with any dog versus himself.
He may choose where his packmates may go or do,
and it is expected to follow his rule.  Physical or
packwise punishments may be inflicted for
disobeying him. If there is only a Sherpardess,
when the Shepardess mates, he may have
a trial to see if he is fit to lead. If he passes,
he may have the given control on the pack.

Shepardess
The Shepardess is  the mate of the Shepard,
and may control her packmates so long as
she has permission to do a certain action by
her mate, the Shepard. She is expected to
be beautiful, vain, and spiteful, and to stay within
the den at all times unless there is an
emergency, or the Shepard has requested
her presence. She is not a hunter, nor fighter,
and is to be protected, as is pack law. If
there is no Shepard, the Shepardess may
take over his rule until she mates and a
male passes the trial.

Sire
There may be two Sires in a pack. They are
often young and handsome, and are used as
gifts to the Shepardess, as entertainment.
They have a very high position in the pack and
are to be treated well.

Mistress
The Mistress is the equivelent of a female Sire.
She is expected to be polite and kind,
and youthful. There may only be two Mistresses
at one time. The Mistress is a very high position,
and they are to be treated well.  However, as well
as with Sires, a Mistress may be executed if
she displaces either the Shepard or Shepardess.

Guardian

The Guardians are crucial to the pack. When
a hunting party goes out, they Guard  from a
distance. They protect the Shepard and
Shepardess while they are out of the den.
The Guardians protect the pack and pregnant
mothers, or mothers with pups. This is
a highly held position, the only way to gain it
being selected out of all the warriors. They are
the protectors of the pack, and form the first
line of defense while in war.

Warrior
Warriors are just below Guardians. Warriors have
been practicing since they were pups to be a
Warrior, and now strive to be more - a selected
Guardian. They are all conastantly in competition,
though they work together in battle as a team.

Huntress
As a tribute to the Shepardess, the Shepard
chooses certain fit females to swear off mating
as long as they are Huntress to hunt each full
moon. They are kept well until then, fulfilling
duties as a basic pack member until that
night.

Hunters
Hunt, often take tips from the Huntresses.

Omega
Most of the packmembers are Omegas, therefore
they are the main population of the Pack. They are
are often abused, though the Shepard is fair, and
they are protected from mains and killings.Subordinates
become this automatically unless specially chosen after
they come of age.

Subordinate
Pups become this after reaching eight
months of life. This is the stage when
they are building up their strengths and
skills, and trying to get themselves
noticed.

Pups
Pups are the offspring of the pack, and
are gazed upon and loved on by the whole
pack. They are often times admired, and
considered saint-like beings. Pups
are the priority of the pack.

Game Help / Adding Water?
« on: August 19, 2011, 01:32:03 am »
Nothing I have found can explain this to me. I have made a test map and mask. They are both just a river and empty space. They work perfectly fine via terrain, objects, etc. What I cannot figure out is adding water to the river. It goes through the middle of the map. I can upload pictures if needed. I have figured out that Ocean is the Ocean on the side. I have tried water material, trying Water.cg and Water for the material. Neither has worked so far. I added a small white patch that made my character swim if on flat ground on the white, but it shows up and does not add water. I cannot figure out how to make the river filled with water. Please help?
