He crept quietly into the junk yard, to what he liked to call his home, where he spent most of his time sleeping. His "den" was constructed out of a large steel plate resting upon part of a dump truck, and an old refrigerator door. It was roomy enough for him to drag a couch cushion into it as well as a bit more space for moving around. Fairly concealed from everything else, Crowe was quite content with it, although it was nothing compared to the sweet and easy life of a house dog. He crawled into his home and curled up onto the shabby cushion before quietly drifting off to sleep.

She awoke, finding herself curled up tightly beneath a young oak tree that provided a good amount of shade from the fierce summer heat. It was slightly cool for now, but the sun was rising. Noticing this, she instantly felt thirsty, as she had not had water for an unhealthy amount of time. Feeling disoriented by her thirst, Skylar found her footing in a sluggish manner which reflected her exhaustion. She spent most of her time in the forest, since it was mostly safe from dog catchers and she was more familiar with it than the city, due to her days as a puppy. Her jaws parted into a wide yawn, and she shook herself free from sleep.

[ physical description ]
Blue merle border collie. Healthy weight, surprisingly for a stray. More on the slender side, not very muscular. Stands straight and does not slouch with a straight back.
[ personality ]
Not very social, but he is blunt, cynical, and aloof in most cases. He is slow to befriend strangers and has trust issues. However, those he is close to experience a protective, loyal, and humorous side to him. Towards humans his fear aggression kicks in and Crowe will usually try to avoid them unless for food or water.
[ backstory ]
Grew up on a farm where he was put to use herding various farm animals. Crowe was removed from the farm and into the hands of an inexperienced young adult who could not properly take care of him and tied him to a fence of a different farm. The farm owner found Crowe and let him roam about as he pleased, leaving food and water out for him. Crowe became territorial of the man's land and would chase off strangers or other animals. The food began to disappear from the farm and Crowe left at age 4 and happened to wander into New York, where he quickly adapted himself to the conditions of the city.

A sable english shepherd. Overall physically weak and malnourished. Her fur does a good job of hiding her skinny appearance. Usually dirty and paws caked with mud.
[ personality ]
The city life has made her more alert, focused, as well as anxious. She usually avoids both humans and dogs. Mostly doesn't stand out or get noticed much by both humans as well as her own kind. Being raised a stray, she has a strong fear of humans. Submissive, paranoid, and pessimistic.
[ backstory ]
Grew up as a stray in the countryside and was the only surviving puppy of her litter. Her mother taught her how to live in the setting at the time as well as to stay away from humans. At her turning 1, her mother fell ill and died soon afterwards. Skylar wandered into the city to where she now lives.
