Which is the x and y axis in the map maker?

It's been a while since I made a map, so I don't remember and I will be here for days trying to find my portal :I

What might be useful to know is that y is the height up and down.

X and z is the sides. What is what is really just to fly around with the camera in the map maker and look on the coordinates in the corner to locate where things should be.
