Site/Forum Help / Re: Login Link Keeps Logging Out
« on: December 02, 2015, 12:43:58 am »
Aye, I'm having the same problem - it's gone from logging me out every hour, to logging me out every minute. /:

Quite troublesome considering I have a roleplay to run. ^-^;

Game Discussion / Re: A guide to wolfspeak and why you shouldn't use it
« on: January 10, 2014, 11:32:16 am »
I used to Wolfspeak... Perhaps far too much x.x - I just gave up with it in the end because I was tired of no one understanding what it was I said. In the end, very few people want to RP with people who use 'advanced' vocabulary. I say Advanced sarcastically as half of the words involved in wolfspeak are completely... How do I put this... Unrelated?

What I'm trying to say, really, is that I don't have a problem with people wolf-speaking. I just get a little annoyed when people use words that have no relation to the part of the body that is being described. Banner for example. It doesn't mean 'tail', far from it.

Now they're banners... I see no relation to them being a tail... This is why I get frustrated. Another most commonly used is pillars for legs. I get it, pillars hold a structure up, legs hold a structure up, but visibly, there is no connection.

Someone really needs to take a good look into these words used and figure out the meanings of each used. I did, a long time ago, and a lot of the words are just a bizarre concoction thrown down onto some paper that someone decided would be a good way to roleplay and make them look better than everyone else when really, half of what they say doesn't even make sense...

I think I'm going off the rails a little here... Still, it's best to have my view out in the open and be able to relax a little after seeing tons of wolfspeakers in FP these past few weeks. You see too many of them and you literally go nuts, mentally correcting them because if you point it out, they rant about it then it becomes more than just a debate, it turns into an argument and then, in turn, something horrible...

Whoo! :D -Flails and clings to Minx's leg- I'm so happy ;-; -Flails- There was a moment where I thought someone else would audition for Brute and I'd miss my chance in having him as a character, but I've been proven wrong. Thanks for this opportunity, it means a great deal to me. ^.^

Game Discussion / Re: Villains, "Killers", and Insane Characters
« on: September 20, 2013, 05:25:13 pm »
I swear I posted here o.o ~ Oh well, I can post again >:I

I don't have many insane characters, but the ones I do have don't just kill for the sake of killing, in fact, far from it. They always have some sort of motive behind their act whether it be something simple, or complicated.

One of my insane characters is Fallenspirit/star. She was fine until the murder of a close friend. It was after that she spiraled out of control and began to see his image everywhere... She was present while he was being torn open and had to watch as he flashed a smile and took his last breath. The sight itself was enough to drag her into a deep depression and then spit her out as insane. However, rather than killing every. Single. Cat in sight, she targets ones that look most like the murderer of her friend. She wants to avenge him and believes that any cat that even remotely resembles the killer should be removed from the face of the earth. Since she didn't catch the cat's name, she feels it better to rid all similar or identical cats so that she is 100% sure she's bought down the right cat and avenged her friend's death.

Still, with all this killing, there may be a chance it becomes more than just one here and there that looks like the criminal... It could become something she's passionate about, something that she feels gives her purpose.

Other than Fallen, my only other 'insane' character, is Alex. He doesn't exactly have a motive, he's just power hungry for all the wrong reasons. One day I'll figure out why, but until then he's just Alex the Rellik. xD

And I have another example. -Facefloor- ~ I created my own species: Merimaph: Some may have seen my little Nymphia running around or even gotten a preset to make your own Merimaph. Now, they look like this:

I didn't know what I was basing her off at the time, it was just a mess around with colours, sizes and models. Still, I have people running up to me and trying to roleplay, classing me as a  ferret, weasel, caracal... That sort of stuff simply because she slightly resembles one or the other... No. :I People just seem to assume... ~ If you want to learn about my Merimaph species click here. There are a lot of features that have been made up that do not relate to any of the listed species previously. You'd have thought the bright green would have given that away... (Without the preset she still has green so there be no excuse >.>) Even if they have read up on my species, they dive in and assume they know everything about my character just because of the little information they know of the species.

I find it somewhat humerous that no one seems to like sci-speak, yet if roleplaying with someone in-game that are using Sci-speak, you often hear things like 'Oh my god (Insert name here), I didn't understand a word of that but your roleplaying is amazing'. Is that why these people roleplay like this? Because they want praise off of other users? 'I didn't understand a word of that' Does this mean nothing to them?

Now, when I used sci-speak, I did it because I was in a group where everyone used it. It was the normal lingo and I got sucked into it. As soon as the group disbanded, I went about continuing the normal H,S,K,T that most other users... use. Sure now I know all the sci-speak stuff and I'm not confused by it, but I don't think I'd ever resort to it unless incredibly annoyed by someone who I want to agitate... That doesn't happen often mind you xD So 99% of the time, I'll H,S,K,T.

I've come across cases like this several times. Say for example I'm a lioness named Nala with a completely different pelt colour to that of the Disney Nala. Someone will come up to me and start criticizing me because I 'got the character wrong'. I'm sorry but, just because my character shares the name as a lioness from Disney, does not mean it /is/ that character. Perhaps I simply like the name...

I always have someone assume something or other about my characters... My OC, Nymphadora, for example. She has a very similar pelt colour to Zira. This I didn't notice until people started to point it out. They'd told me I copied the design and that I'm a 'thief' for having colours similar to a lioness in a fictional story... I'm sorry, I didn't know that tan lionesses didn't exist in the wild. please explain, are they all red with pink polkadots and yellow belly stripes? -Facepalm- It seems no matter what character you have, how much you make it 'original' Someone, somewhere picks up on something to relate it to a Book, Film, Series or Comic etc. There's never any winning x.x

I've only ever had three mates in my entire time of being on FeralHeart but seeking a mate was never my priority. I like to roleplay, I like to experiment with my roleplay, I like to make friends, I like to build up a character back-story. I don't want everything to be a case of 'Oh, Roleplay. I need a mate then.' Because that's not roleplay. I don't even know what you'd call it...

Anywho, whenever I have a character requested to become a mate of another, they always, always turn it down in the politest way possible. Its just... Always ten minutes into the roleplay. It's like people pick the character that they want to be mates with and then badger them from that moment on and if rejected either turn aggressive, or depressive. I'm just fed up with the routine...
