General chat, What's it for?

i also would like to put here:
- talking to mods about subjects that arent FH related, and the mod wont talk back (saying here like: i love you mod! come party mod! etc.) stop spamming them, they wont talk back. this basically hinders them in their work, and in my opinion should be punished.

Oh yeah, that. I don't know why that didn't occur to me but yeah. This too I agree. It's annoying how everyone seems to do that the moment a Mod appears in the chatbox, it causes a huge clog.

Don't know about punishing them for it, but it IS a kind of spam nonetheless.

But on the other hand you don't really see it happen a lot compared to the trolling/other spam, so it's not really major, major spam/in the same leagues as the rest...I guess it really depends on how often Mods appear in the chatbox. But sure enough, when the Mod does appear so does that "MOD!!11!!" spam.

And yeah, it's fine when users ask the Mods intelligent questions, that I don't mind users doing. Calm greetings would be preferred too. Not:
"MOD!!1"
"HI MOD!"
"MOOOOOOOD!!!!"
"MOD WILL U MARRY ME?"
"MOD MOD HIIIIII"
Which goes on and on and on.

O_o I also don't know why people are so excited to see a Mod...

Also on the topic of Mods and General chat, another no is when people totally disregard the Mods and post abusive/vulgar/petty remarks in relation to the Mod when the Mod is right there. Those users are just asking for a ban.

General chat. I always think of it as a place where people can talk to each other as a whole map, you know? But there's always people advertising their roleplays, and mates, and stuff like that. It's more like a huge clutter of random stuff in one chat. D: Not a simple little box where people can meet new people.

Local Chat: Random Chat, Roleplays.

General Chat: Advertising, Game related Topics. Since this Chat goes over a whole map there shouldnt be any random crap. Since someone is maybe looking for a Pack or RP and the randomness on the G-Chat is just getting in the way. If you want to talk to one Person far away, use Whisper or Group. (Soon Partychat.)

In custom maps i dont really care how they are used.

Should be:

Advertising Roleplays: Yes, I think it's a great place to do that, and if people don't feel like roleplaying the can turn general off if they don't want to hear it.

Looking for a Mate: It's better than pming random people...if someone just says in general they're looking for a mate, it's easy to find one.  Anywho, again, if someone gets tired of reading it, they can just turn general off.



Should NOT be:

Roleplaying: This is really annoying.  Nobody really wants to read your roleplay, that's why I like creating groups with roleplay, and using that.  Or pming for one-on one roleplay.


Yeah, I don't have much to say.  But the roleplaying gets really annoying.

Personally i use General chat to goof off(many ppl know that XD) or contact someone because for some odd reason whisper lags me -_-!.  But I also use it to advertise or help someone Advertise.

Although it's not really just based in General chat it's in all of them and is easily switched off, but it's still annoying.
