The Season Festivals
At the start of every season, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, the two herds gather together to celebrate the end of the season, and the start of the new season. This celebration includes feasting, a speech from the two rulers of the herds, fireworks from the Fire Deer, and, of course, deer having a good time. All deer are invited and welcome to the festival. When the festival is over, the two rulers of the herd will give a fare-well speech, and the deer go back to their normal lives.

Days until the next Season Festival: 3 Days until the Fall Festival

Questions

Q: What Type of deer can I be?
A: Whitetail, Mule, Elk, Red Stag, Fallow deer, Axis deer, and Reindeer are allowed. I will allow some moose, but not many.

Q: Can I be an albino/piebald?
A: Absolutely :D

Q: Can I play the murderer?
A: Yes, you may, but don't go around saying 'I killz every deer in the forest' or something crazy like that ;)

Q: Can we play fawns/baby deer?
A: Yes :D The only problem with this is that you will have to find a mother/father to raise it

Q: Can I apply for Royalty/What's the deal with it?
A: The Royalty characters (Leader of the Herd, Leader's mate, Prince and Princess) are first come, first serve. If they are filled, sorry!

Q: If my character dies can I make another?
A: Of course you can! But, do not reincarnate your character over and over, because that is considered power playing.

Ranks of the Herds.

Both herds have ranks. Some are different, but most are the same. Here are the ranks below, and their description.

Leader of the Herd - The leader of the herd rules over the entire herd, and it supreme. They guide the herd through hard times, lead them into battle, and give speeches at the Season Festival. (1/2 taken)

Leader's Mate - The Leader's Mate, also known as the Queen of the Herd, usually befriends the deer of the herd. She is sometimes so popular with the deer, they sometimes come to her for advise, rather than the Leader of the Herd. They also bear the sons and daughters of the Leader, one of the sons will soon become the Leader of the herd. (1/2 Taken)

Prince of the Herd - The Prince is the son of the Leader of the herd and the Leader's mate. The oldest Prince is destined to become the Leader of the Herd when his father grows too weak, too old, or too sick/injured to rule. When he becomes ruler, he is too chose a doe to rule beside him. There can be up to three Princes (0/6 Taken)

Princess of the Herd - The Princess is the daughter of the Leader of the Herd and his mate. The Princess is not in line for the throne, but are still treated kindly. There can be up to three Princesses in each herd. (0/6 Taken)

Under-Stag - The Under-Stag is basically second in command. They advise the leader, take over if the leader if too sick or injured to rule, and if the leader dies, they will become leader of the herd. (0/2 taken)

Medic - The medics are first on the scene should a deer get injured or sick. They are mostly Earth deer, but there have been Medics with Water, Air, and even Fire powers. These deer know all herbal remedies, and have basic knowledge on communicating with the dead. There are three for each herd. (0/3 taken)

Shamans - Shamans are the link between the living and dead. Most Shamans have Darkness powers, but there has the odd deer with a different power. Not only do Shamans communicate with the dead, but they also use their magic to solve minor problems. There are 2 in each herd. (1/4 taken)

Commanders - The Commanders of the Herd regulate and train the deer should there be a battle. They train warriors, and also give advice for battle to the Leader. There are four Commanders for each herd (0/8 taken)

Messangers - These are usually the fastest, lightest deer in the herd. The messangers take messages between herds and herd members. Most of them have Air Powers, to aid in their messaging. There are three in each herd (0/6 Taken)

Caretaker - Caretakers are the deer responsible for various errands in the herd. They watch over fawns should their parents be away, and also care for the sick and elderly. They are mostly referred to as the Fawn-Sitters, as they will watch over the fawns and entertain them if needed.

Normal Deer - These are just the average buck and doe. These include Family Clusters. Normal deer, with enough training, are eligible to come Medics, Commanders, or Messengers should the opportunity arise.

Powers and Abilities

Most deer have one main power and one sub power. Their main power is the power they inherit the night they are born. They use this power most often. The sub power is a power that the deer practices, but has not inherited ex. A deer's main power is fire, but their sub power is Wind. The deer has inherited Fire, but wishes to practice and master Wind.

The Flame
Inheriting the Power of the Flame allows the owner to receive power of fire. Though one of the most powerful, it is also the most deadliest. The Flame allows the user to set any flammable material on fire, shoot fireballs from their mouths or hooves, and even keep the fire inside, but make their antlers or hooves unbearably hot. They also have heightened senses, allowing them to see or hear better than deer with other powers. Even though it may seem like an awesome power, The Flame takes the longest to perfect, and can easily backfire in the owners face, resulting in burns, scars, and (Asim forbid) death.

Water
Inheriting the power of Water allows the receiver to bend water. Most of the deer with Water powers are calm, and often times day dream. But, like the river, they can get wild should they be upset. Any deer with the power of water can spray water from their mouth or hooves, they can easily fit into small spaces with little trouble, and they can swim better than any other deer. Although this power may interest some, some deer with heightened senses have gone mad, claiming they could hear voices talking about them and that they can always see wolves or cougars despite the area being safe.

Wind
The Wind is the most fascinating of powers. Most deer who inherit the wind have one of the best abilities: To hover aboveground. They are not able to fly, and only deer who live in a cave in the mountains and train everyday will be able to fly more than 3 ft off the ground. Despite being able to hover, Wind Deer can run faster and leap higher than any other deer. This is a problem though, as the deer move so fast they aren't able to see the tree or boulder in front of them.

Earth
The powers of Earth are the most 'natural'. These deer are able to grow grass and trees, and also communicate with them. They can sprout trees from the ground at their command, make boulders appear out of no where, and camouflage with the trees or rocks better than any other deer.

Darkness
Darkness is one of the most evil of powers. It is extremely rare, and Deer with the power of Darkness are said to be cursed. Some deer are able to be telekinetic, able to read other animals minds if they can. They can see and communicate with the dead. This power has drove deer mad, as they claim they have been haunted by ghosts and spirits of their past.

Telepathy - Those who have this power will be able to communicate with others through different ways other than words and speech. Almost like they're able to speak to one by getting in to their heads. And if their power is on the stronger side, they're able to read ones mind.

Precognition - This power is mainly controlled by older, wiser deer such as elders or shamans. They can tell the future of one, they'd be able to see danger and such coming. Unless the power of the darkness is to strong, or another causes their visions to fuzz and mess up.

Mind Control - This is a very limited power and one for the only most experienced deers. They'll be able to control ones mind and make them say/do things in an attempt to make a situation better or worse. Could clash with another power to form a weakness.

About the Land, and deer that inhabit it

The Land is the place the deer live in. The majority of the deer have special powers they inherit the night they were born. The deer currently live in two separate herds, the Meadow Herd and Forest Herd. The Meadow name, hence the name, live in fields and fields of open, wild grasses and flowers. The Majority of the Meadow herd deer are descendants of the followers of Ganges. The Forest herd, on the other hand, lives mostly in the wooded areas. Most of them are descendants of Balkan and his followers.
Regardless of where they live, the deer usually live in small clusters made up of family or close friends. These clusters are called Family-Clusters and are usually ruled by the Over-Stag, whom is almost always the father or grandfather. Whenever the Over-Stag of a family-cluster dies or is too sick or injured to watch over the family, his oldest son shall start watching the herd, and become Over-Stag. Should he not have a son or grandson fit to rule the family, he will usually choose one of his brothers. But, should he not have any brothers, a doe will rule the Family-Cluster until a buck is fit to rule the family.

"Now let us unite. And put our antlers to the sun!"

Many, many years ago, a herd of mystical deer were formed. The herd was filled with magical deer, and was ruled by a powerful, graceful Irish Elk named Asim. Asim had two sons, Ganges and Balkan. The two fawns possessed amazing powers, and by the time they were a year old, their powers almost surpassed their fathers. When they grew up, they had majestic antlers, and muscles that flexed with every step. But when Asim grew sick and died, the two sons argued who got his throne. They turned to the herd, trying to convince them to make them leader. Ganges promised a beautiful life with peace and happiness. Balkan offered power, and strength in numbers. The herds were split down the middle. Balkan and Ganges clashed their powerful antlers, but the fight lasted. Finally, Balkan gathered his followers, and they launched an attack on Ganges and his followers. But Ganges won, and banished Balkan and all of his followers to the Dark Forest.
Balkan and his followers now live in the Dark Forest, most of them walking alone. Most of Balkan's followers have dark magic, with dark grey, brown or black coloration to blend in with the Dark forest.
Ganges, on the other hoof, let his loyal followers stay in the Meadow of Color, named for the many flowers that color the landscape. The deer had a wide variety of powers, and even there colorations were of wide variety.
Now, many, many years after Ganges and Balkan, the World is falling into chaos. Wolves, bears, and other predators are lurking, and deer are turning up dead. But most importantly..

A murderer is on the loose...

Animal & Non Human Roleplays / Re: The Whispering South Wind

Tarik stood on a ridge, overlooking a forest. Down there was prey. Of course Tarik didn't know what he was going to catch, but he wanted food, so he was going to have to go down there and end some sad animals life so he could live. Tarik turned and walked down the Ridge-past his cave home- and climbed down the sloping mountain into the forest. Tarik lifted his muzzle and sniffed the air. Squirrels, birds, rabbits, raccoons and deer were on the menu today. Deciding to hunt the deer, Tarik followed it's scent trail until he found it in a clearing. Tarik looked around the clearing from his spot under the Bush. He needed a spot to get above the deer, and drop down from above. After all, he excelled at it. There were no rocks or anything. But there were trees. He quickly climbed up it and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. He lost track of time. Suddenly the deer walked right where he wanted. Finally... Tarik positioned himself for the jump. He was about 15 ft in the air. And he jumped. And the stupid deer moved. Tarik twisted and landed on the ground, fuming. Tarik yowled and leapt onto the deers back. The stag bucks and kicked. He crawled up it's back and landed a bite onto it's scruff, growling. After the buck fell to the ground, Tarik ate it on the spot.
