Canyon ~ A Natural Environment by Raphilion
« on: August 12, 2012, 10:38:15 am »
Woohoo.. I couldn't wait any longer to release this to the general public;
Canyon

For anybody interested, here's my thread on my WIP as I was still Working on Canyon

Here's a short story on the environment;
Over millions of years of weathering through wind and water, this canyon was formed into its unique shapes of 'R' and 'L' cliffs and other canyon cliffs including the few cave-dens at certain corners.(R and L are for the letters in my username RaphiLion) this canyon sees very little rain throughout most of the year; But when the rains come, they come! It rains heavily in the afternoon for about a month and then suddenly stops. Canyon hasn't seen rain for 2 months already which cause most of the ground to dry and crack, but some spots by the river have remained muddy allowing for grass to sprout and trees to revive themselves. The Raphilion river, which supports all life at Canyon flows into a lake (Not included in the map as it would take up space), not the sea.

The rains also bought the oasis at the top of the first cliffs to life. It's an awesome spot to relax, cool-off and get some much needed shade.
As you'll see, there are bones of dead animals scattered across the desert plains which should be enough of a warning to you that it's a harsh world out here away from the river.

Choose your path wisely and stick to it!

Enough with the stories, here are a few screenies to help chu decidez whether chu wanna download mah map or not.
If you do, Thankies an' enjoy XD
If not, then Imma hunt chu downz, nah just jokingz :D

I have placed all necessary instructionz in the ReadMeh.txt file.

PLEASE NOTE: My account with MediaFire is free which means the download will stay there for a limited time only *Le sigh* so if chu or someone else tries to download and it's not there, lemme know ASAP so I can reupload as soon as I can.I will be in the army next month so I will respond when I can. PM me so I can let you know when it's been reuploaded

Le Screenies;
Le oasis :P

In this post, I would like to give credit and many thankies to the following people for their participation in making my map as awesomesauce as it is and also for the people from which I took objects and textures from. If I missed anybody, please lemme know XD
I will also try to give as many links as possible; So if you're looking for the same stuff, then you don't have to look any further.

Map Testers:
Thierry
Deem
Thanks to you two for agreeing to check out my map before I released it to the public and especially to Thierry for the great advice to improve Canyon further.

As for all the meshes and textures I used in Canyon, here are the due credits to those awesome people for their awesome stuff.
I have made a list of all the downloads i have made so far. Here's the edited version with just the stuff I used in Canyon;

Code: [Select]
FH MESHES AND OTHER DOWNLOADS LIST:

OBJECTS;
~DA MESH STORE
~Some-Art
~Ribs

~Glave
~Bloodstain
~Hamilton
~Bonez
~Creepy Tree
~Desert Rocks (I retextured them to CayonTex)
~Log
~Tumbleweed
~Jayfeather55
~Salmon
~Elephant Skull
~Rock Slab (retextured to CanyonTex)
~Thierry
~Bird Of Paradise (Plant)
~Cacti (Desert Vegetation)
~Organos
~BriskWinds
~Waterfall Smooth

TEXTURES;
~Ingredient
~CreekWater
~DarkWater
~Thierry
~CaribbeanBlue2Water (An alternative to another CaribbeanBlue water which had 100% Opacity, was not that good on my map)
As for links to get most of this stuff;
In FH-IT Mesh Store, you'll find the tasty ribs I used as well as other nice stuff under Nature meshes.
Btw, the ribs go great with a Bloodstain from  Glave's Meshes and Textures XD.
Hamilton's Thread on Meshes had a lot of useful stuff for me.
Jayfeather's Thread of Millions of stuff had some useful stuff for me.
Thierry was the most helpful member giving a lot of links to work with and hisMeshes and stuff had lots of neat Cacti to work with as well as other awesome stuff. Thanks Thierro for all the help XD.

Ingredient has neat Water Textures, some I downloaded for possible future use cause they look awesome.

Well, that's pretty much all the links I can fetch.
Thanks a lot to everyone, named and unnamed who either gave me useful advice while ingame to go look at the FH-IT Mesh Store (Sorry, can't remember who told me that). and the others that tried to help me and those that tested my map and those that have awesome meshes and textures.. Without those meshes, my map would have been super lame as I don't think I would have been able to make my own -_-.

Now, I would like to thank all of you who are downloading my first (And probably last :( ) map ~ Canyon ^_,^
