Can't connect to front server / Ports?
« on: July 27, 2016, 08:11:40 am »
An update from the other posts I made:

Please read them if you haven't already, as I don't feel like explaining it once again x'D

So I called my internet company and had talked to someone, they said they needed to know what FeralHearts "Ports" were in order to allow them to work, as something seems to be blocking them. So I've got to call them back once I've figured it out so they can fix it. x.x
I have no idea how I can figure out what ports FH uses, so if anyone knows how, or if you know the ports, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know!! nwn I've tried messaging staff but haven't heard back from them.

This game really means a lot to me, and I really want to get it working again. In fact, today is the day that I met a very good friend of mine on FH, a year ago. And all I wanna do is celebrate by being able to play FH again with them. ;w;

OK. Well I only have a little bit of tech smarts, I've not seen an issue like this pop up before but then again I'm not so very active on the forums. I looked into trying to find the game's "ports" as you had asked, and while tinking around the internet and my Windows Command Promt I did find something. I'm not sure at all if it's even close to what you're needing but, I'll go ahead and give it a shot anyway.

Running a command in my cmd prompt box, I've only got but about this far regarding anything linked to FeralHeart:

Code: [Select]
[FeralHeart.exe]
UDP     0.0.0.0:53360

[FeralHeart.exe]
UDP     0.0.0.0:52698

[FeralHeart.exe]
UDP     0.0.0.0:50109

Since I don't know what all that means there, just that its the results I got out of using the cmd promt, I wouldn't exactly quote me on it. You can either call your internet service and ask if that is the info they're needing or email them it yourself and see what happens.

However if you would like to try this process out yourself and see if you find anything different (which I would recommend since we're on different computers, thus different numbers), you can do the same thing that I did. First find where you can connect to FH like at your relative's house, so that you can get in-game and online for this process, since being online in FH is required for this whole thing to work.

Then, go to your start menu and type in the search bar "cmd", or if running on Win 8/10, go to Search on the side menu (or wherever you have yours located) and type "cmd". Once a program called cmd appears (all Windows computers have this and I'm going to assume that's the system you're running on since there was no mentioning of a Mac), right-click on it and click "Run as Administrator", a little box will appear asking for special permissions so go ahead and click yes on that, and the cmd prompt window will open. Below is what it will look like:

Now that you have it open, type netstat -anb (you may copy/paste it into the box) and press enter:

And after you've pressed enter you should get something like this:

Using the netstat -anb command will allow you to find and isolate your game, so the easy way to find it is to right-click inside the cmd box and click "Find...", then type "FeralHeart.exe" into the search, clicking "Find Next" once that's been done. It will then highlight where FeralHeart comes up in the cmd box like so:

You can then weave thru what you're given and write down anything FeralHeart related such as what I gave you, then send it to your internet service provider and see if that is what they're needing in order to unblock your game from gaining access to your router's signal. But if this isn't what is needed, I highly apologize, and I tried.

But I do hope it does work or at least points you in the right direction, so good luck to ya floof!

Thank you very much for the reply @Shazadah! I honestly didn't expect anyone to try to help or even reply, so I really appreciate you taking your time to do this!! <3

I'll have to give it a shot once I can connect to a relatives internet and call back the company. Keeping my fingers crossed that it'll work, lol.

What better way to kill boredom than to help people? I also didn't think anyone would answer so I thought might as well take a crack at it and see what happens *shrugs*. You're welcome and I'm hoping it all goes at least moderately well ^u^.
