This isn't really related to internet censorship, but you may be interrupted by it, so I figured I would post a quick note.
The Canadian omnibus Bill C-38, also known as the "Jobs, Growth, and Longterm Prosperity Act," addresses many different laws and standings - some menial, others quite serious. There's the vague understanding (out of its 450 pages) that the bill repeals or amends several environmental and ethical legislations. Because of it being at the heel of the new
Bill 78, and with internet privacy constantly threatened, it seems that "the government is trying to chip away at civil liberties"
(RT: Black Out, Speak Out).
In protest, a reported 13,000 websites are going dark on June 4th.
