Yeah. I named him that because of the color of his markings, also because I really like the name. Most of the time when making characters, I name them after something in another language, or just make one up. I really like the Japanese language, so I tend to name some of my characters Japanese names.

I do that, too C: The fox I made up, Mizuki, means 'beautiful moon' in Japanese and refers to her one silver eye and silver fur + slender figure. Speaking of names, one of the meanings of the name Naruto is a type of fish patty/paste thingy that goes in ramen. I never really liked it... The other meaning is maelstrom, which is like a whirlpool or something, I think : / OK off-topic, I just thought that was funny that the protagonist of a story would have a name meaning 'fish patty' x3
