Another horrible thread. Wow.
« on: June 15, 2014, 07:00:40 pm »
Title ^
This is about my computer, but from what I've read, it's more of a serious problem.
What's happening: I turned the computer back on, but when I did, I got a black screen. The power light was on, but I didn't hear any fans spinning. I don't think that this is caused by malware, because I think that my computer is pretty clean. And plus, based off of how the computer was running before, it had none on it.
Help?

I don't really know what causes this problem but I don't think it's malware either.
Did something interfere with it the last time you shut it down?
Maybe you put it on hybernate/or sleep? (im sure thats unlikeyly though lol my computer does the same yours seems to do when its on hybernate/sleep)

You should take it somewhere get it checked out by someone who is an expert in case it's a serious issue.

i dont really know these are just suggestions

Hue. I put it in Sleep, as I was making a map. Last time I shut down was yesterday, as it had to install updates. Idk if one of the updates did this or what..

Also, I can't reset the whole machine back to defaults. So much artwork + maps + presets + a lot of other random things will be lost if I do so.

Yes, that happened to me before...
It was announced that my graphics card couldn't hold the whole PC by itself. Whenever I turned it on, I kept on having a black screen and nothing happened, luckily, my brother came and told me everything.
I basically went to a store that I got my laptop from and they got me a new one.
Meh, but.. that's only what I encountered, your problem might not be based on your graphics card.

I think I may have found my problem xD
After messing around in the BIOS settings of my computer, it turns on again. A scan from Mawarebytes said that I had a rootkit that infected the MBR ymustbadthingshappentogoodpeoplenuuuu. Idk what I did... Probably messed it up even more... I'll have to look that up later...
But anyway, thanks for the help :)
