I had exactly your problem before, and maybe there is a solution.
Probably he used the
System restore option on the computer, who
teorically does not move user files.
But, windows thinks the
.cfg files are system files, so when you restore the system with that ugly option, your map files gets "deleted" (but in fact they are moved in to C:\System Volume Information\)
More information about the system restore option:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore=Option 1 (easy but you don't know if will work):
-Back-up your FeralHeart outside of your computer, for example, in a USB drive or memory. (do it, since you can lost other maps)
-Go to the system recovery option (
-Then restore your system to a date when your map was alive.
-Check if your map exist on feralheart, If you did not found your map, try to restore to another date.
-Once your found your map (you will see all the .cfg files are there), back-up your map outside of your computer (USB drive).
-optional: if it is necesary, restore your computer to the actual date.
-Put all your maps and stuff back in to your computer, and should be fine.
=Option 2 (for computer hackers if you can do it):
Try this, but since i use windows XP, the options may be a little different.
First be sure you can see hiden files and system folders and file extensions.
-If you can have access to C:\System Volume Information\ you will find folders like
RP<insert number here>, search for all the cfg files inside, you will find cfg files with leters and numbers as name (windows renamed them), open then in notepad to check if they are your map files.
-Note probably you will find many times the same cfg file, there are a copy for each time the system saved a copy.
-Once you found your files, is time to place them correctly in FeralHeart and to rename them with the correct name.
