Game Help / Re: In a bit of a fix- Mesh problems
« on: March 16, 2014, 01:39:23 pm »
This can happen for a couple of reasons, the two most likely ones being another map export that's overwriting the bridge meshes or your own files overwriting them, like Ruby said there.

If you haven't tried it already, completely clear out your exports folder. Just make a not about which maps you have to download again beforehand. But try downloading this map first then, and have it be the only map you have when you go to try again - if that fixes things, the issue was just another map you've downloaded, so be careful when installing future maps to not overwrite things.

What it likely is though is something else in your own mesh folders, because hey, FH has been known to make things difficult. So plan B. Go to (C:) >> Feralheart >> media >> objects. If you have anything in "my_objects", clear out that folder and restart. If you have .object or .fho files in the main objects folder that are not the default files, delete those. NOTE: Don't delete the default files in the main objects file, only the ones you put there, if any. Default, MyPlants, MyTrees, MyRocks, and Miscellaneous are the only default .fho and .object files as far as I know, but I might be wrong there.

**The easier way to go about doing this would be to obtain a vanilla copy of the objects file and swap them out, if you're unsure of what to keep and what not to keep.**

Aaaand if that doesn't work, best I can suggest to you is to search your computer for anything FH related and delete it, then reinstall the game and download the map again. Hopefully you can just wipe your exports or get a new folder for your objects file instead.

That's great, especially for a first attempt! The colors are beautiful together. Keep us updated on your art - I'm curious to see what else you can do.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Re: [Username Here] is in Character Creator
« on: March 05, 2014, 09:01:32 pm »
It would be interesting, really. This is the first I've ever seen of this idea I think. Especially since you do need Internet connection to even get into the chara creator. Still, I don't think something like this is even possible. The way the character creator "map" is set up - which is an actual FH map called Podium, it's just not accessible - I would think the source code would need to be involved to edit such a thing. Maybe not. Either way, it is certainly an interesting thing to consider. Not sure if I'd want people knowing I was in the chara creator myself, but I can certainly see the appeal of the idea.

These questions always conflict me cause I'm on the side of liking mostly anything. Except country. Can't do country.

Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Bastille are some of my favorites off the top
of my head. I'm currently obsessed with "Flaws" and "Icarus", both by Bastille.

While I agree that power playing is ridiculous to this extent and negative unless controlled, I don't know if I'd call Fluorite the hub of power players and whatnot. I mean there are obviously tons there and all, but a large percentage of people I meet there aren't like that. Maybe 5:1 in fluorite - for every 5 public map people I meet in fluorite, only one is a power player/godmod.

Take it to a place like Bonfire however and that ratio seems almost 2:1 respectively. I was known back when I used to go on FH much more often for ending up dead within 5 minutes of entering Bonfire and not even speaking to anyone. Fluorite is much more populated, but Bonfire has a much higher concentration. Either way, it's still pretty bad, but it used to be much worse believe it or not. I run into significantly less power players than I used to, and even as bad as it still is now, that's saying something.

Edit// bah, sorry. Didn't even notice that it was a necro thread until now. Sorry bout that.

Game Discussion / Re: Role Play problems.
« on: March 03, 2014, 09:31:02 pm »
I've found that RP styles vary drastically depending on who you talk to and where you are. I've seen power play, like you talk about, in public maps such as Bonfire and Ficho - less often in places like Fluorite, but hey, it happens.

People give RP styles a lot of labels, really. Literate, Illiterate, Multi-Para, Wolfspeak, Powerplay/Godmodding/Mary-Sue, etc. Guess it really does depend on the person. I mean I could generalize and say the younger someone is, the more likely they are to power-play like what you experience, but ayy, I don't try to generalize but obviously not all younger players are like that in the least.

Honestly I just tend to not RP at people if they god-mod/powerplay me. Otherwise I just get terribly frustrated in the long run.
