Yes, I havnt seen it before but I know about it. The most craziest thing I saw on General was people talking Like Hi general and stuff, some even have conversations in general which I find annoying, they go like hi and how are you in general. It gets annoying after a while, thats why I moves to sky's Rim, very quiet there xD

Sometimes I see some odd conversations going on. Most of the time I don't join in unless the subject of conversation is an interesting one. One topic I see crop up a lot in Fluorite is the location people are at, like whether they're in the UK or the US, region, state...that kind of stuff.

Yes but then people start spamming all voer General about the red text and they want to talk to the mods. They also want to know if mods are a computer or a person. xD Mods are people so... ya. They just have awesome blood red text colors. Lol.

But all in all, I think General Chat was just invented so people who don't have anyone to talk to in-game could just start off a random conversation with whoever they want to...

No, it supposed to be for advertising groups, roleplays and such. Small conversations are fine... but a bunch of people having a huge annoying conversation that makes no since is a big no.

most of the time i never even pay attention to general on any maps xD or i just turn it off if it gets to annoying so.. yeah it hardly bothers me at all :I
