"What's a fursona?"

I'm asked this so many times and I never know how to respond. I usually look the person in the eye, give a "Durr" face and say, "Err... let me get back to you on that.". I can never explain it. Since the people who ask it aren't the type who know the ins and outs of the Internet, whenever I try to explain they just look even more confuzzled xD

So pretend I've just discovered the Internet and bumped into FeralHeart. How would you explain to me what a fursona is?

To me, it's a furry version of yourself. It's based off the word persona which is an alternate version of yourself.

It can look how you want it to look and act how you want so long as it resembles you in some way. Picture yourself as an animal or a furr-..animal like creature. That's why it's called a FURsona, fur on an animal, ya know?

(When people ask me this, I usually just say: "Some animal." ^^; I understand where you're coming from lol)

I'd probably say something like, "Well, a fursona is an animal character that represents me." I actually... don't know completely what a fursona is. I don't really have characters that represent myself xD

I asked our god, Google, and their description was: An animal character used to represent oneself online or in furry role-playing.

I think the word is a bit different to other people o3o I just think it's an animal character, because as I said I don't have characters that represent myself.

I dunno, don't ever listen to me xD I don't know stuff.

That's how I learned what derp meant too o3o I Googled it to see what they said now and if I had Googled what it meant a while ago I probably wouldn't have used it xD They say it means stupidity and stuff, I just use it randomly
