Picture quality? (Profile Pic.)
« on: February 19, 2015, 09:21:20 pm »
Time to help Ellen! xD
How do I fix the quality for my profile picture so it gets better? You can see that my "Color Splash" profile pic doesn't seem to have nice quality (You can't see the small pelt details).
Like Buffy's profile pic, you can see all the details on her profile pic, good quality. But how does she get that? Is it the size of the image or does it have to be uploaded in a very specific way?
This picture is pixel: 592x500, and I uploaded it directly from my computer, didn't use url.

Hope you understand my problem, thanks! =)
Also my profile picture is new, maybe it takes time for it to get good quality?

P.S: I'm not quite sure if this thread is posted in the right place, please move the thread if it doesn't belong in this section.
Again, thanks <3

Buffy Avatar isn't a picture from out of Google image. It was made by a user who offer her the piece of artwork of her character. To get this, just request your reference sheet in one of the member threads that takes requests. If you're lucky, maybe u can you get one.

Then again, it depends on the image You get.

maybe if you use TinyPic, you can shrink the size to avatar form.

Try downloading and saving the image as .jpeg to get a better quality. Also to adjust the image so it is small enough to be an avatar. Like mentioned above, once you have done that try uploading the image to Tinypic and upload it as your avatar with the URL provided.

I would image the size of the image makes it bigger or smaller. I've seen other folk with bad-quality images for profile pictures. I think it's just the sizing; you shouldn't worry much. It looks different on all computers because of screen zooming, etc.
Like for example, I have my zoom at 125 instead of 100.

Buffy's profile pic is of same quality. I can see JPEG compression artifacts on it. It looks better because it has dark colors and anti-aliased lines. Yours is high-contrast, that's the difference. You can try saving your userpic as GIF, but re-scale it first.
