Art Gallery / Cy is Taking Requests (Open)
« on: January 08, 2016, 04:06:13 am »
Now that I got my long-pending commissions out of the way, I'm willing to take some art requests to draw your characters!

I do both canine and feline, though I personally believe I'm better at canines. I can also draw most predator-type animals, and rodents. I draw humans too, but this is more of an animal-drawing FH-related request thread!

I'll do digital, traditional, and tradigital (a new sort of artwork I've started doing that combines traditional and digital mediums). :D

Here's some examples of my work:

Canine

Feline

(I also do domestic cats)

Traditional

Chibi

Tradigital

Anthro

As you can see, I'm very diverse in what I draw and how I draw it. Take a pick and send me a good ref of your character and I'll see what I can do :D

Game Help / The dreaded black screen (SOLVED! YAAAAAAAH)
« on: January 06, 2016, 11:16:46 pm »
So, I got meself a new computer, right? Good graphics card. Good memory. Windows Vista.

But ya know what? WaterMill on the opening screen is objectless, and the character screen is black (aside from my characters). Oh yeah, and in the game, my character falls into complete blackness. (Probably because I don't have my personal maps on that computer, but that doesn't explain the other issues).

I read on one help thread with the identical problem that I should get the Torrent download, which I would do if I could get past my dad's stubbornness. But on this computer I'm using right now, which I've been using to play FH since 2012, I did not need a Torrent download. It's an older computer and operating system than this new one. (Well, not NEW new, but it's new to me.)

Also, and this is a possible problem, my dad said he did not download the game again--- he took the install from this computer and put it on that one. I don't know why. I told him he didn't need to do that. Is it possible that some files were lost in that transfer?

Any help would be appreciated. D:

Presets & Markings Tutorials / Semitransparent Presets
« on: January 06, 2016, 12:55:48 am »
I will be very brief on this tutorial, because I am very bad at tutorials. XD But I didn't see any tutorials for making these, and I knew a way, so... here ya go.

Here's the coding for it:
Code: [Select]
technique
{
pass
{
lighting off
cull_hardware none
cull_software none
scene_blend alpha_blend
depth_write off
texture_unit
{
texture preset_6equipR.png

And do remember to change the ".jpg" to ".png". :)

And then you'll have a lovely semitransparent preset! Da-daaa!

I hope this was helpful to some floofs :D

Presets & Markings / Cxaoj (My 7th preset)
« on: January 05, 2016, 09:14:12 pm »
Remember when I said Colin was my best preset? Then I made Cxaoj... and everything changed.

Before you go any further, I want to be clear that it is pronounced "Skowj"--- like "cow" with an s and a j. How did I come up with a name like Cxaoj? It's Latranese. Coyotes have a weird language. Don't try to rationalize it. (Iors cim's...)

Here he is:

Cxaoj is the Latranese god of death. It is said that he lures coyotes to their graves by wearing the face of a deceased loved one.

...And if there's another Halloween part this year, and if I'm able to go to it, I'm using Cxaoj. He's too creepy to not. o__o

Cxaoj belongs to me, so does the preset. o__o

Ah, I love him. <3

"Cornhusky" is just something I started calling him today. I think he would probably take it as an insult...

Presets & Markings / Colin
« on: January 04, 2016, 07:48:38 pm »
I made a preset version of recent favorite character Colin. :D It's turned out the best of any of my presets (that make any sense, that is. Patchwork makes no sense) and I'm going to share him now~

Here's the link to download him (so you can see him ingame): http://wolfkid27.weebly.com/presets.html

I wasn't quite sure how to export a preset so I just put in the .fhp file in the download. If I need to add anything else tell me and I'll fix the download contents.

Game Help / Preset Textures
« on: January 04, 2016, 04:49:10 pm »
I made my own fur texture and it looks pretty good on the game characters, but I was wondering how I would get it onto a preset.

How do I get the fur texture onto a preset? o_o

Screenshots / Colin's Adventures at the FeralHeart Mall
« on: January 04, 2016, 02:59:32 am »
I plan on making more of these dumb little adventures as told by screenshots... Just as soon as I have more stuff done on this map. XD

THIS IS WHAT I DO WHEN I'M BORED. I make up stuff like this. I've just never chronicled them via screenshots before.

Episode One- Food Court

Episode Two- ???

Work In Progress Maps & Map Discussion / Cy's Insane Map Ideas
« on: December 31, 2015, 12:02:46 am »
I'm going to use this post as a way to dump unusual ideas for maps. Feel free to share your own as well. :D

So, here are some unusual maps that I've either made or am planning to make:

-Bowling alley (Planning on doing this one soon)
-Chess board (I have this one made already)
-Monopoly Gameboard (This I will probably not attempt but it's a crazy idea)
-Mall map (planning on this one--- it even has elevators)
-Starship (I attempted this once but didn't get far...)

I don't think any of these maps are out there yet. Do feel free to take inspiration from above ideas... except the chess map, since that one's finished.

What other odd map ideas can you come up with? I love weird maps, haha. XD

Forum Games / The Related Game
« on: December 27, 2015, 06:43:39 pm »
My sister and I used to play this when we were kids. Maybe I'll share a few of our other games at another time.

I'm also not sure if a similar game has been done already, but I hope it hasn't. :)

So, to play the related game, a person says a word, and the next person must say a word related to the previous word in some way. For example, if I say "fish", someone could say "swimming". The next person could say "pool", and so on. The one rule is you CANNOT repeat a word that's already been used. You can use synonyms but not the exact word.

I'll start:

Rabbit
