A Brisk Storm (Complete)
« on: February 05, 2012, 07:09:13 pm »

A damp breeze blew across the forest area of the savannah, causing the tall grass to rustle ominously. A huge, dark grey cloud obscured the sun, casting a heavy shadow over the pack below. A whimper could be heard from a small, silver wolf crouched at the back of the group. "Wh-What about the pups...?" he whimpered. "Shhh, it's alright, Kata, Turah has a plan..." a female whispered reassuringly to Kata. At this point, a light drizzle had begun to fall. Turah, a golden wolf with emerald green eyes, stood at the crest of a hill, staring up into the sky. "...We must move. The storm will hit not too long from now," he said in a commanding tone. "Every wolf, grab a pup gently , and follow me," the alpha barked, beginning to lope off at a brisk pace. Kata picked up a small brown pup by the scruff of its neck. The rest of the pack began to do the same, all following their leader as soon as they had a pup in their maw. However, no-one noticed little Tobanah under a tree, shivering and whimpering. "G-Guys..? Where are you going? ...Guys?" he yelped, staring after them. Alas, the pack was already too far away to hear him. At that moment, lightning flashed from the sky a few leagues away, a loud boom of thunder shortly following. Tobanah leapt up, beginning to scramble after the others. The rain was getting heavier; his pelt was already sodden. Kata happened to glance back, spotting Tobanah. He paused, waiting for the little pup. "You alright there, pal?" Kata asked as Tobanah caught up to him. "Y-Yeah," he replied, trying to keep up with Kata's long strides. The silver wolf brushed his tail across the pup's back. "We'll get there soon...."
Sanity? ...What's that?
