Species / Tudund War Dogs
« on: December 04, 2014, 08:36:31 pm »
The Todund is a German war dog that is born from the breeding of a Kangal dog and a Leonberger dog; both very strong German breeds. The Kangal is thinner, but thick boned, and used for protection if herd animals and people, while the Leonberger is a very thick furred beast of a dog used for all matters of protection. The cross makes a dog that is agile like the Kangal, but has a thick boned body and thick fur for protection. Males typically weigh up to 160-200lbs, while females weigh around 130-170lbs. Heights range depending on parentage, but most Tudunds used for war are males that are around the height of Great Danes.
Tudunds, the name comes from the German words 'Tud', meaning Death, and 'Hund', meaning Dog in German.
Tudunds are used for a variety of jobs such as spying, fighting, carrying equipment, protection, etc.
Tudunds are very intelligent dogs that require, surprisingly, very little motivation. You simply point them at a target and they will go after it. They enjoy the hunt and their reward and motivation is the satisfaction and praise they get when they deliver what was asked of them; they are very eager-to-please animal. Tudunds are also viciously loyal. Once they are introduced to their masters at a young age, nothing will stop them from protecting that person and obeying them, absolutely nothing. Due to this, all Tudunds used in war are given to as puppies and trained by the officer who is to be responsible for and commanding them.
Tudunds coat color varies. Kangals have whiter colored coats while Leonbergers have a range of colors in their coats, from red, to light brown, to black. Most favoured of the Tudunds are those that are dark beige, dusty grey, or just plain dirt colored, as that is best for stealth.
Tudunds have the unusual trait that when they hear people speak other languages, even though they don't understand it, they remember what is said and what the words sound like. This is a favoured attribute of the Tudunds because it allows for surprisingly good spying. Tudunds would be sent to infiltrate enemy camps, and they would be trained to sit and listen when speaking is heard. Once returned to their handlers, the officers would speak out loud words having to do with warfare such as ambush, plains, gas, etc, in whatever language their enemy spoke, and if it was a word the dogs heard, they would usually give a sign, such as a head tilt, or barking. It is not always reliable, but it does give some clues into what the enemy is planning when other means of spying aren't available.
Although Tudunds were originally bred and created in Germany, capture of the dogs allowed for other countries to obtain and create their own Tudunds war dogs, although they were never called Death Dogs outside of Germany because it was seen as too harsh a name.

This is a new species that kinda just popped into my head randomly. It was like a spur of the moment idea that I kinda lengthened out. Anyone can create one, but if you do decide to make one if you could let me know, I just wanna know how many of my lil creatures are out there. ^^

Species / Vuliro Demons-canine or feline
« on: November 23, 2014, 03:28:40 am »
Vuliro Demons can be both feline or canine, and are the offpspring of Pyro Demons and Vampiric Demons. Pyro Demons are associated with fire elemented demons and Vampiric are those that need to drink other animals blood in order to survive.

Vuliro Demons do not need to consume blood to survive, but they do have a taste for it and are drawn to the scent of it. Some Vuliro Demons can become addicted to the taste/scent of blood, and/or the taste/scent of burnt blood. Vuliros do have abilities in the fire element, not so strong as full blooded Pyro demons, but they could create fire and control its movement. They cannot create fire in areas that are cold because they don't have enough fire power to contradict the cold in the air. In order to hunt their prey, Vuliros tend to burn their prey alive, or burn it enough to weaken it so it can be killed. It is through the burning of their prey that some Vuliros can become addicted to the scent/taste of burnt blood.
Vuliros don't have normal sleeping patterns. When they are first born they sleep mostly during the day then are awake all night, and as they grow older the slowly start to sleep less and less untill they barely sleep at all around the age of 1 year. Once every five(5) months or so after that though the Vuliro Demons body needs to rest and recuperate and so for about 10 days the Vuliro falls into a very deep sleep whereupon they do not wake up at all. For those 10 days, the Vuliro will either find a hidden cave (one which is usually found months earlier), or burrow themselves into the insides of a volcano (which is extremely rare to find)
Vuliros are strange in that they live in groups, but can also live completely solitary, happily. Vuliros are fiercely loyal to their own kind and even if they don't belong to the same group, or don't belong to one at all, they will defend eachother from harm. Most Vuliros do belong to a group, but do not actually spend time with that group, rather they only come together for courting and birthing periods. They are proud of their species and very rarely mate outside of their species, although it does sometimes happen. Vuliros do not mate for life, but once two Vuliros breed, if they have strong offpsring, they will choose to breed together again. Males, whether feline or canine, may choose to mate with more than one female, although it is rare because during the mating period a pare will find their own cave or hollow tree (or whatever they choose) and stay together for the entirety of the mating period. After the breeding period is over, all Vuliro demons belonging to the same group will come together and live together untill the birthing period. The females will all stay together, usually in the dark confines deep inside a cave where very little light comes through, and the males will do the hunting. At this time, all fighting and hostility seems to disipate within the Vuliros. Females all look out for eachother, and males look out for everyone, each other and all the females, whether or not the offpsring they carry is theirs. The birthing period lasts around 1 full month, same as the breeding period, and female Vuliros can have from 1-5 cubs/pups. It is very rare for Vuliros to have more than 5 living cubs/pups, but larger litters are possible given that some pups/cubs may come out stillborn. Stillborn pups/cubs are set on fire and burnt to ashes, the ashes are then collected and kept by the females, usually in pouches made of leaves and/or animal pelts (Vuliro Demons are very handy).
Whether feline or canine Vuliros, all females take care of the pups/cubs and within a few months are usually all jumbled up into eachothers litters. Mothers always know exactly which ones who belong to them though because their scent will carry their mothers scent for up to 5 months. At 5 months, Vuliro pups/cubs are old enough to fend for themselves and the Vulrio group will seperate once more for 7months untill the next breeding season.

Breeding season-1 month. Pregnancy period- 4 months. Birthing Season-1 month. Pup/cub growing period-5 months. Seperation period- 7 months.
One Full Cycle for Vuliro Demons- 18 months

Appearance:
Feline- Females have lion like thin coats, but males have thicker coats such as tigers and around their necks tends to be thickest. Bth males and females have lion-like body builds The don't have small markings such as spots or stripes, rather more solid, two toned colouring. Most Vuliro Demons have colour patterns of red and black, white and red, or all black. Their eyes are either red, black, or white.
Canine- Body build and pelt texture depend on parents. Tend to have thick pelts, with females having slightly thicker pelts around the tops of their necks. The don't have small markings such as spots or stripes, rather more solid, two toned colouring. Most Vuliro Demons have colour patterns of red and black, white and red, or all black. Their eyes are either red, black, or white.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To create a Vuliro Demon, you can just create one, you dont actually have to have a Pyro Demon and Vampiric Demon parent. I dont care if anyone creates one, but if you could comment and tell me if you are, I would like to know, just to see how many people actually like my species. ^^
