In some maps with water in them..

The top of it is pure white.
The underside of it is normal water.

Outside of those maps, the waters perfectly fine.

It's most likely a water texture the map creator has used.

I think the only way you could fix it would be to find the water texture and remove it.

The creator of the map most likely didn't include the water texture they used in the download. Have them send that to you then place it in your media>textures folder~
