This thread shall consume all of my poems. I have a bunch to put in so keep checking back.
Words
I stood out in a book.
Simple, plain.
Black and white,
Made of simply words.
But is that all I am?
Meer words crafted,
onto a creamy white page?
Enjoyed by many,
but simply a fantasy?
Do I only exist,
in the paper,
bound by a thick leather cover?
Constantly being touched,
wondering this thought.
I am no longer your game.
No longer your words.
I am not a fantasy.
I am real.
I am me.

Humane Societies. ('Nother free verse)
Careful, steady hands,
placed me inside the cage.
A warm towel at my paws.
A bowl of kibble,
a dish of water.
He stared as he closed the cage doors.
I thought and thought.
This Is all your fault.
You kicked me out,
got me into this mess.
I sat for months, until the man returned.
He picked me up, holding me in his arms.
He told me I was going to a better place,
a worry-free, peaceful place.
He had tears in his eyes,
And same did I.
He layed me down on a table,
softly and gently.
His tears were there still.
My body relaxed, and I sighed
As I faded into the worry free place.
My limp body on the table.
The man lifted it,
carrying it away.
I stared in happiness,
as my soul was in the
peaceful, and worry-free place
that the man had promised me.
