Scorched Lands is a literate, sited, mapped, plotted, active and long term roleplay with 30+ members. The roleplay started in December of 2016, and currently uses a temporary map. 

The Clans

MurkClan
Leader -- Martenstar
Deputy -- OPEN
Medicine cat -- Fernpool

The Clan received it's name due to the thick mist that always seems to surround the whole territory.
MurkClan is probably the most aggressive out of the four Clans. That doesn't mean it's cats go around looking for fights, and breaking too many rules, but MurkClanners are well-known for being mainly blood-thirsty killers and code-breakers, of course, there's also exceptions. Their leader will only enter a conflict with another Clan in extreme situations, same with trespassing territories, but won't hestitate to take any intruders in the territory as prisoners. MurkClan cats are often brown-pelted and medium sized, with large claws. MurkClanners tend to be swift and logical in battle, hiding themselves in the shadows before attacking first. They generally hunt small rodents, birds and sometimes, fish.

Previously called SwampClan due to it's Swamp-like territory, now simply a brook after the incident; hence the Clan's renaming. BrookClan cats are often slim, swift and intelligent. They're quite good swimmers and mainly feed themselves off fish.

Like it's name clearly says, these cats have their camp on an island.

Pebbleclan cats are, or at least seem to be, some of the more resourceful cats of the groups. Having recieved the worst of the flooding, those in this clan have to be at least somewhat adaptable to survive, and most resources- along with many of those unlucky enough to be trapped in the flood- were lost. However, despite this, cats from Pebbleclan tend to be somewhat level-headed, and quick thinking allowed them to rather quickly make use of the trees and other den-like structures in the area. They now make use of these shelters as dens, favoring ones that are off the ground.

Short character description: This tom is not a cat you want to mess with. Though he's a total sweetheart towards clan members, he's hostile and cold when confronted with outsiders. He has the muscle and skill to back up his warnings and threats as well, so it would be wise to stay away. With an incredibly tall, muscular body mixed with his piercing green eyes, this tom is quite the looker and ladies tom too.
Roleplay sample: The tom's ears moved like small radar dishes, his senses high on alert for any prey that was unlucky enough to be heard. A rustle here, and a rustle there. Each one gone before he could hone in on it's precise location. As time passed, he finally located a small island lizard, hunting for flies on a warm rock. His heartbeat slowed, each muscle tensing up as he prepared for take-off. Suddenly, the tom launched himself towards the lizard. His large paws stretching out, each turning into small nets. The lizard didn't know what had hit him, his carelessness had cost him his life. With a swift bite to the head, the lizard had died. Lionclaw let out a small chuckle. "Poor little guy. Sorry 'bout killing you, but we gotta eat too y'know." Picking up his catch in his jaws, he made off towards camp, ready to greet his friends.

Short character description: Kestrel is a charming tom. He's polite and welcoming to anyone within his clan, treating them with the respect he believes they deserve. He doesn't get angry too often, though he can pack a cold demeanor when he needs to, especially to those outside of his clan. Being a tall and brutish tom with frosty blue eyes, he can look menacing, though he tries to look less hostile around his clanmates.

Roleplay sample: The night was a rather cold one, a gentle breeze tickling the fronds of the trees above him. He could only feel part of the chilling bite, due to his thick, mottled pelt. He took a little pride in that. Kestrelcloud picked his way through the bushes, keeping a keen eye on his surroundings. He was nearing a body of water, hoping to catch at least one fish in this peaceful night on his lonesome. As his big paws touched the sand beside the waters edge, he would drop into a steady crouch, looming over the water with hungry blue eyes. He stayed there, muscles somewhat braced to prepare for any sort of movement that would allow him to strike, ears swivelled to alert him for other cats. After a few moments, a fish swiftly swerved into his view, unaware of what was going to happen. With his paw poised for the strike, he would quickly snag the fish with his claws in a scooping motion, tossing the writhing fish onto the bank in front of him. He approached the fish before it could escape back into the water, dealing a killing blow that made the fish stop moving. "This should be big enough, I suppose." Craning his neck, he took the fish into his jaws and ventured back to the direction of camp, not wanting the fish to rot in the sand rather than being eaten.
