~Origin~

Arcticus Felidae was discovered in the most remote parts of the Earth: The Arctic, Greenland, and Antarctica.Two collage students we're studying the aspects of the Coldest parts of the Earth, and came across a gang of Arcticus Felidae.The students set their sights on the animals and began studying them, and granting much info to animal study in their Collage.The students took home a female who was heavily pregnant, and a teen male. Months after the cubs, the two Arcticus' mated, and produced 10 cubs.Once they've grown, they've been let loose back to the wild. The population of the Arcticus has risen wildly since discovered.

~Anatomy~



~Behavior~

Males tend to be more aggressive than females, and are almost always lurking in the thick, dense, icy terrain of its home. Males will compete with eachother for territory and females.
Females tend to be more defensive than males, and they will attack in defense if anything draws to close. They are superiorly protective of their cubs, and will fight to the death to protect.

~Diet~
Arcticus Felidae live relentlessly on meat and fish. If prey supply has dropped or a severe drought has occured,
they will consist their diet on fruit and insects. Arcticus' are Omnivorous.

~Reproduction~
Mating season starts in Early Summer.Females come into season at the age of 1 year old. Their noses will turn an ice blue(If first time mating, a pale light blue) color to show she's ready to breed. Females will always have their tail off to the side, which her scent gets carried into the wind. The females will yowl or hiss to lure males into her territory.Males, when ready to breed, eyes will change to a neon red(If first time mating, a light pink) color, to plain himself to females he wants to mate, or to scare off other male rivals. When the male arrives to the female, he will walk around her, and eyes narrowed down to her eyes. Its a common ritual among these creatures. The female will stand up,
and the two animals will put their foreheads together, and walk in a circle, staring into both their eyes. If the female accepts, she will crouch down, and show her submit, by lowering her ears.If not, the female will stop the ritual, hiss and walk away. Mating takes time. The male will hover over the female, attempting to mate. The female will oftenlift up a paw and unsheath her claws. Females are very timid, and they are often worried the male would hurt them.After probably an hour, the female will gain confidence, and let the male mate with her. Mating for these animals is strange. Dealing with the slight canid gene they we're all born with, they mate like felines, and get into a "tie" at the end.The "dog knot" lasts for about 2 minutes. Arcticus Felidae never mate for life, as reason is the males usually kill the male offspring for no competition in the future.After mating, the male will simply abandon the female, and goes off to find more females in season. The female will remain receptive until after one day she has mated. Cubs in the litter will have only one father, so if she gets mated again, the first male that mated with her will be guarunteed the father.

~Young~
Females carry the offspring for 1 month(1 Week FH time). Females can have up to about 5-6 cubs in each litter. First time females end up with 2-3 cubs.When time, the female will look for a secluded spot to bare her cubs. They preferre abandoned caves and dens, but they will also go for large, thick bushes.
The females remains in labour for a half hour. When born, cubs are born blind and deaf, and are defensless.Females are very protective, and will even take on any animal to protect her cubs, even the smallest mammal. Cubs will feed off her milk for 2 months of their lives, and retreat to meat.Females bring back and regurgitate meat for her cubs.Females teach their cubs to hunt when they are 7 months old. Female cubs reach sexual maturity at 1 Year old, males at around 10 months old. Cubs leave their family at 1 year old to begin a new one, and the cycle starts over again.

Males Live To 20-25 Years Of Age
Females Live To 18-20 Years Of Age
Males Stop Breeding at 19 Years Old
Females Stop Breeding At 16 Years Old.

~Sociality~

Arcticus Felidae live in groups called Gangs. There is a head male, who has the darkest mane, and made up of 6-8 females and their cubs. The head male never kills cubs of his Gang, not even male cubs. Some Arcticus choose
to live solitary.

~Habitat~
Arcticus Felidae live in the Arctic, Greenland, Antarctica, and at the coldest parts of any tall mountain.
