()Galaxy Dragons()
« on: March 01, 2015, 10:39:01 pm »
The Galaxy Dragons are not, in fact, an individual species, but rather a breed of dragon. They are named for their star-cluster markings, which can be any color, including black, making a sort of sub-breed of the GDs called Void Dragons.

    The history of the Galaxy Dragons goes back thousands of years-- In the original dragons' age, really quite young. It all started with two fate-creating Sky Dragons by the names of Quira and Koan.

    Quira and Koan were mated Sky Dragons, but they were not happy with their plain life. Theirs was not a very exciting home, because aside from the very few birds (which stayed away, due to the fact SDs are still predators), animals could not reach their eternally sky-bound isles. Deciding they'd had enough of the Isles, the pair set off on a journey. Both received a dream, or so they thought, of them soaring out of the atmosphere and to a completely different planet. They discussed it, and set off on the journey to Pluto.

    As the two SDs reached the dwarf-planet, finding it unpopulated, they decided to reside there. The freezing cold didn't bother them; they had lived in the Isles, which shadowed an artic region. Quira's unborn dragonlings mutilated due to the new setting. She borne three dragonlings-- each had a black base, different colored star-cluster markings, and feline looks about them. As Firo, Kiera, and Liko matured, they sprouted thin, but strong, creamy horns that darkened into a black tip. Quira and Koan, being the first to borne the breed, named them Galaxy Dragons. The two SDs persuaded other pairs to fly up to the planet, creating more GDs. In this way, the Galaxy  breed was created.

Appearance
    Galaxies have a black fur base, and large curved ears. They have star-cluster markings, which can be any color.   tinyurl.com/starclustermarkings
The color of their markings determines the color of their eyes, which are surrounded by white, and tend to generally be a contracted slit. Feathered black wings add to their amazing appearance. Albinos are a 1/100 chance, and are very rarely seen. GDs with black markings are under the sub-breed Void Dragons. They are pure black, aside from the thin white eye-lining. Both GDs and VDs  have long, ragged claws that release a type of venom into their victim. The venom isn't the strongest, but can still cause a slow, painful death to the receiver. Surprisingly, the feline look comes from being a mammal. Young are born after about a short five months of gestation within a nest or den, depending on the environment. Unlike some others, the dragonlings are born fully alert, with a thick black pelt. Colors develop as they mature; Galaxy offspring achieve adult size and looks around one year.

Sizes
    The sizes of the GDs are slightly varied, though rare. Females are around 3 feet high, reaching about the waist of a fully-grown human. Males are a foot higher, reaching about mid-chest of a fully-grown human. Larger sizes are occasional; female Galaxies have a 1/25 chance of being 5 feet, while males have a 1/10 chance of being 6 feet.

Abilities/"Powers"
    The Galaxy Dragons have few abilities,which make up for the lack by being highly useful. Being a dragon species, they can, of course, fly; but being natural hunters, adding the fact that their wings are feathered, results in a silent glide. Both males and females have a high tolerance of cold, descending from the Sky Dragons. Females have grown more accustomed to the freezing temperatures, as while carrying unborns, they must remain in the nest/den. Males hunt for the expecting females, working extremely hard to feed his mate. After studying humans long and hard-- Yes, Galaxies are far more intelligent than human beings, leading them to believe that they are studying the dragons-- they have achieved human speech. Many befriended the No-Claws, as they nicknamed humans, creating an everlasting bond between the two races. As mentioned above, GDs have reached an amazing intelligence rate, about 50 times more intelligent than human beings. When a certain human and Galaxy find each other, a flash--colorized depending on the Galaxy's markings-- binds them, transforming the human into a Dragon Rider. They are both equal. The humans do not own the dragon, nor vice versa.

Please, please, PLEASE ask permission before creating a Galaxy. I would like to keep track of how many are running around! Also, if you do receive the go-ahead, please stay with the appearance and size descriptions I have put in. The Horizon markings (Mass Markings Aug 22) are used, and the largest is half of the size bar. Thank you so much for reading; I appreciate it!  :D
