Game Discussion / Extreme Doormats?

So, there are many character Tropes that one can utilize in characterization.

One of my personal favorites is the "Extreme Doormat." Essentially, it is a character who will obey their hero/lover/superiors without question and are generally spineless and painfully submissive. Many of these characters, however, usually have a "true friend" who help them escape their more detrimental orders; though this isn't always the case.
Some media examples are: Hunk from Voltron (mildly, early on); Mituna Captor, Tavros Nitram, Soos Ramirez, Mei from Overwatch (kinda), Ed from Ed Edd n Eddy, etc.
tl;dr: smol bean who is entirely subservient and has no redeeming qualities to change that

So, do you have any Extreme Doormats?
If so, do you like to develop them to be bolder?
Any True Friends to compliment them?

Leaving / I feel my time has come.

I never quite thought I'd be posting this now. Better to end it properly, I suppose.

It pains me, but I feel like this community no longer has place for people like me. I'm too quiet, and far too cynical to socialize with others properly. I just feel like I've lost connection with the community. I've  been loyal for 2+ years to this community and I still feel like a stranger when compared to other members. I also find myself getting annoyed for no reason when I view certain topics, and I think it's for the best if I take a break. How long I'll be gone, I don't know. All I know is that I'm going to be mostly forum inactive. I'll still attend events and such, and appear frequently in game, but the forum community is starting to get "old" for me. I don't know why. Maybe because I lost my innocent wonders of the forum, and I want all memories of it to be entirely positive. I remember joining and looking up to the hero members at the time in awe, thinking how amazing they were to be so loyal and loved, and now that they're all gone or inactive, I've lost nearly all my idols, and I feel... incomplete? Alone? This is turning into a rant, so I'll cut this post short here.

Not like it matters, but I hope you can all respect my position and decision.
Thank you, those who have been there (you know who you are), for giving me the best years of my life.

Ello again everyone.
Lately there's been a lot of negativity towards the new maps from those who miss the old maps. I'm sure that most of the community also misses the old maps. However, instead of those of you who are unhappy hating on the new maps and all the hard work that the staff put into them, why not share some pleasant memories of the old ones? Old member, new member, pro-update, anti-update, why not come together and share some memories?

The Valley



The Valley is a wonderful place, full of magic and mystery. However, it is scarce of... simpler animals, and as a result, more intelligent creatures struggle to sustain themselves, let alone sustain a family. As a result, The Valley is home mainly to rogue scholars and vagabonds in search of magic and adventure.

The plot is simple. It's up to you! This is a mostly freeform roleplay, so feel free to form groups, battle, learn, unify and whatever else you wish!

Rules:
1. Be respectful! One of your characters may be a jerk, but please no OOC drama!
2. No powerplaying, godmodding or mary sues. Many characters will have magic, supernatural strength or other abilities, but please keep your characters balanced!
3. No attacking, killing or similar actions of another's character without their permission.
4. This is a mature group, so language and gore are allowed in moderation, as well as mild sexual behavior, but PLEASE keep it to PMs or black out the text.
5. I'd like to keep away from "California scenes" in this roleplay. So basically, no complete dictation of secrets or life stories on the first interaction. Build it up! Keep it interesting!
6. HAVE FUN! :3 This roleplay is for entertainment and socializing purposes, so laugh, be merry, make some friends!

Not sure if the source code limits this too (it seems to have updated with 1.15, but that might just be a log replacement), but maybe a notice for the new login system could be on the log when you first enter the game. You won't be able to miss it, so old and new members who are confused why they can't enter will know why and be able to come online!

Welcome all, to the Westward Mariners Romp!

About: We are a brand-new semi-aquatic mammal rp, made in appreciation and inspiration of the new maps. We are semi-lit, and mainly realistic.
Accepted animals: Otters, seals, minks, turtles, sea snakes, frogs, anything along those lines!
Sites: We move around a lot! We will be mostly located in Seaside Grove, Zama Grotto, Bonfire Islands and Kiwimbi Beach! Look by the water!

Ranks: We don't really have ranks, due to the diversity of species and loose social structure, but Buckminster (me) is one of two dominant animals (We're in need of a female dominant!). We may implement more of a pirate social structure, with first mates and such.

'Ello! This is a small rant/confusion thread that I'm wonderin' about.

Ok, here's the problem: I currently run ADBlock on my antivirus, as well as on Chrome. However, recently whenever I click on any "link" in the forum, or whenever I access an area, page, board or profile, a new tab will open with some obnoxious advertisement. And I'm not talking about ad.fly either. So far I've gotten Windex, Life Insurance, and a few shady-looking M rated "games."

This happening to anyone else?
