Feral Heart

That is just the thing, it does feel like a ghost town already in comparison to what it used to be. I know that too many people can be a issue but tbh if the game doesn't have enough players then the whole thing dies. I don't think all of the community is dead but I do feel like it was much bigger and better back a few years ago. Again this is just my personal opinion and I am curious as to what people think. But I feel a few months of open registration would go great and bring in some good numbers which is what I feel is needed for this game to get back the way it used to be.

There are still plenty of players that come online. You need to take in account the timezone differences, and the fact that some kids have to go to bed early and have school. And the reason why the registration is open at random times was because way back when, so many people wanted to join that it would overload the serves. And the reason for the login page is too keep all of us players safe. It's a small price to pay to play safely in my opinion.

1: Timezones are there yes but I've checked daily and this doesn't come close to the original numbers from back then.

2: We don't have those numbers anymore and its such a small fraction why are they still closed. We need new players to keep the community active, which it is no where near the activity it was back then.

3: As for the hacking issue that isn't too big of a deal but I am indeed surprised it has happened at all.

The thought saddens me since I have friends on this game whom I don't know how to contact outside of the game, but perhaps if I convince the rest to be on deviantART, like some already are, then we could let eachother know about stuff.

I like this game, though. It really sticks to me, since it seems so simple and out of that I can really express a lot of my creativity. Through maps, for example, or presets. Even characters without presets I feel like I'm expressing it. And boy am I a creativity-addict. |D

If it ends, I can just hope Raz will let us know, give us time to "pack up and leave" so to speak? Although I can easily doubt it won't end for a while. FeralHeart is not the most popular game but it's certainly loved by many who play it. But all good things must go, as others have worded here I've noticed.

And I think the source code might be put up when it's shut down, too, so maybe we could scramble over to that and make our own game as well? But we'll see how it goes, I guess, since it really depends on Kovu himself for that decision...

So far I doubt KovuLKD will put up the source code ever really, otherwise he would've already done so since this game has been out for years.

As for the game itself, I feel a bit saddened as to what I "knew" of this game and what it is today. I remember coming on and seeing over 600 people at one time everyday. The least amount of people was 300 at hours like 6am EST time. So needless to say I am well, a bit saddened by this. I came on multiple times and have only seen a little over 100 members and it just well, shocks me.

I'm not sure if anyone wants a idea of how good it was back then in 2013 or earlier but well, it was constant people at least. All the dens were filled and you could always find people to rp with no matter what time of day.

What was even better though was that all the map was in use and there were people in every cave or den. Plus general chat made it easier to communicate and post to get people for groups and what not. But alas, the good ol' days are at a end I think unless they open up registration and finally get enough members to make it like that once more.

I think that perhaps if this game had a few more dog rps than we'd see a much larger number of floppy ear characters and etc, infact I think I've only used floppy ears once as a joke because there was a Naruto fan named Kiba, so I made a Akamaru with floppy ears and he pretended to ride my back like the characters from shippuden would. So yeah, only time i've ever used them, and I haven't seen a single floppy ear character in like an year now that you mention it. ._. Scary...

So far people seem to think these jokes are funny because society these days are getting used to things they shouldn't be, less morals and less mentality for some reason. But there are a few who do still have morals and those who do, I applaud you, those who want to work for a living, have a family, wish only the best upon others and don't do offensive jokes than thank you, because its those type of people who need to inspire not just us but others who like this crude humor. Otherwise if you think that these jokes are funny and you yourself don't learn from mistakes like this than please, leave the others alone. There have been cases where people were sexual abused, and we don't know when it has happened, but if it was recent, these jokes are highly offensive and cause severe dramatic experiences for people, its nothing of laughing matter because of that. Things that joke about transgenders and all, I ignore even though I am one, hell I made a few jokes about it too, but nothing that was forced on a person or to make fun of a person other than myself and if anyone is ever offended I immediately apologize and move to the topic of something else, that is always the few rules and guidelines I follow anyways so why not others. They are simple steps no?
