About the forum "positions" and stars?

I've seen above the users picture some infos like 1 gold star-newbie and other people with different or the same ranks and positions
If you don't know what am i talking abut, this is an example:

And I wanna know what do I have to do to have a higher rank, do I have to create a lot of post, be always online and those stuff?

Ah, ye get a new rank with posts! There should be a post and rank chart in this thread b'low. But, yes, the more ye post, the closer ye get to a new rank! Some boards, like Forum Games, do not add to y'er post count. This is b'cause one could post 100 times in a day in that board, so 'twouldn't really be much of an accomplishment to get a new rank.
