Mesh files not appearing in game...

Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone would know how to export a .mesh file from 3ds Max so that it would show up in-game?
I've just been experimenting with objects that have no material file to them.
I currently have the OgreMax 2.2.7 plugin installed.

im not sure to understand the question exactly.

I use 3dsmax 8 with the same plug-in, and i do this:
To export i just click File -> Export -> select to export in mesh format -> write TheMeshName.mesh -> Ok

then in the game, at object maker i load the meshes writing TheMeshName.mesh.

Sorry about not being clear; allow me to better illustrate my dilemma...

So, I've got 3dsMax 2013 installed. I also have the OgreMax 2.2.7 plugin. What I've been doing to export objects into .mesh files is this:
OgreMax>Export>Export Selected Objects...

Then, I name the file, make sure that it IS a .mesh file, and save it to "MyObjects".
When I try to open it in Object Maker, nothing shows up--the classic "File not Found!" message does not even show.

I've been wondering if this is not working because:
1) the object has to have a material file before being exported into a .mesh file
2) I've got the wrong version of Ogre plugin
3) I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing...

Seems you are using the plug-in is sigtly different than me. You are using the OgreMax menu instead the File menu. try in the way i do.

Other thing to have in mind, if you use the OgreMax menu, you have to select the objects you are exporting.

Another thing, objects should be Editable meshes. If they are not (ex: a cube, a editable poly, a boolean operation), then select the objects and select the modifier Edit Mesh like this:

Okay--I just tried through the file menu and I didn't get any different results.

Maybe the plug-in is not fully compatible with that version of 3dsmax.
Or maybe the object is too small to be seen, can you give me a sample of the mesh you have exported?

Have you already tried what i said about making all objects an editable mesh and also selecting all the objects in the scene you want to be exported?.

I'm starting to think that the plugin isn't fully compatible, like you said.

I've tried using various objects, one of them being the gryphon beak I modeled--you can find it here:

When I check the modifiers while I've imported the beak, it already says that it's an editable--I didn't have to change anything.

I just seen that the plug-in 2.2.7 does not include 3dsmax 2013
Try to download the latest version of it.
Currently FH works with Ogre 1.7 (before 1.6)



I have 3dsMax 2010 and also works fine.

Yeah, that's most likely it--I'll need to find the proper plugin to match.

Huh. So I've got the right version of the plugin, but it doesn't let me select the 2013 version to install.
I think I may just install the 2010 version of 3ds.
