Who You're Meant To Be - A Light In The Darkness
When you're in the dark,
It's hard to find your way.
You don't want to keep going,
Because you'd rather stay.
Alone becomes your friend,
And the sadness is raging within.
Idle in the dark you sit,
Alone in Sorrow and Pain.
Feeling as though,
You are alone,
In some horrible endless rain.
The shame is unbearable,
The burdens imperishable,
The sadness is deathly,
The anger is deafening.
But when a friend comes and saves you from the dark,
You feel like you're in a flood and have been lifted to the Ark.
Over-joyed, happy, carefree!
Your feelings are as endless as the sea.
That's why we all need a friend,
To help us through every twist and bend,
And make us understand and see,
That we were indeed, So Meant To Be.
Friends are a highlight in life,
Having no friends is such a trife.
Without friends, what would the world be?
A hunk of rock, with not even a tree?
Consider a close friend a blessing from God,
As they will be a rock,
On which you can always trod.
They make us feel all happy inside,
Make us feel that in them we can abide.
We have not been given a spirit of Sorrow,
But a spirit of friendliness and strongness.
We need to understand and believe,
That with God and good friends,
Is where we were Meant To Be.
