More genders?
« on: May 04, 2014, 05:49:01 pm »
well, this might be a little weird to some people, but why don't we add more genders to the forum information part of your account? or maybe, put an 'other' option. i'm saying this because there are genderfluid people out there/who don't really specifically belong to a certain gender, and some people have other preferred pronouns, so maybe we could do that? or maybe a custom gender option.

just tryna help people out

Oooo, I quite like this idea.~ I do agree with what you said. Some people would like that option. :)

I completely and wholly support this idea. :) I myself find it really awkward switching between genders depending on my mood. Having a different option would be nice, even if people would rather not disclose it.

I agreen to this completely. Some people may find it offensive to have no 'other' options. The fact of having genderfluid options is a great way to show that we don't mean to offend anyone. I would happily talk to one of the MODs about this, if I am given permission from you. Thanks for sharing this brilliant idea with the community!

I support you with this. It actually could be seen as offensive by genderfluid people. My cousin says he/she doesn't confine him/herself to a certain gender, so we have to ask him/her what they're up for.

In fact, whenever he/she signs up on a forum, they get a bit upset because there's not an "other" option for when it comes to genders. I support you on this, because it's just true.

thanks for all your supportive input c; ki, you can always do that, i don't mind; and yeah it's hard. if you're genderfluid you don't want to change your gender on a forum and have people get confused when it keeps going back and forth

I'll send it to Sura and Vespian
(Because, erh, I love em' most <3) and I will see what Red can do about it too. I have seen a few people argue
with admins on other websites/forums about genders, so I don't want
anything like that to happen here. I will send them a link to this thread, thank you for letting me notify them!

Generally I find I most often just leave myself as a male, to be honest. I feel more comfortable with that over switching - but for those that don't like to choose (or don't find it as easy as I do; it's a particular thing), this would definitely be a very good option. :) I believe it'd help a lot of people out, just to have an 'other' option in general, not just for genderfluid people.
