Ascensia

War wages on a hidden island. Brother and sister turn on each other, friends devour one another, and unforgivable sins are committed. But how did the Summis flock of owls and the Ortus bat colony come to be such steadfast enemies?

General Plot:

Long ago, the owls and bats lived in peace; they did not fight each other. They lived in perfect harmony and balance.

Then it happened.

An owl found her eggs broken; her two half-grown hatchlings slaughtered brutally. Enraged, the mother amputated the wings off of two newborn bats. The bats, who insisted they were innocent, retaliated, and war ensued over territory, prey, and ultimately, life.

The Ortus bats still insist, to this day, that they are and always have been innocent. But what secrets do they hold in the depths of their shady roosts?

The Summis owls will not take no for an answer; they demand justice for the four hatchlings, and will stop at nothing to get it. But was it one of their own kind that killed the eggs?

General Information:

Ascensia is a FeralHeart-based Owl and Bat roleplay created by Flarefur. It is based off of The Guardians of Ga'Hoole and Silverwing. The two groups - the bat colony and the owl flock - are constantly at war with each other. If the owls catch a bat, they will most often either kill them, torture them for information, or use them as a slave. When an owl (however unlikely) is caught by a bat (often this would take several bats, more than five at any rate) they are automatically killed or brutally tortured, or, in some cases, the bats clip their wings. This prevents them from flying, and the bats then chase the owl out, setting upon them with sharp teeth and deafening screeches until they cross the border. Oh, yes, this war is far from being resolved.

Our roleplay is host to a comfortably-designed website, and exists on a stunningly beautiful and detailed map. As this map is currently a work in progress (I promise you, it's only still WIP because our mapmakers are intent are making it as lovely and detailed as possible WITHOUT lag, and so far this has been possible. Keep in mind that they cannot work 24/7. Until this temporary map is finished, we will wait on the forums or on the (albeit laggy and crappy) temporary map. We're sorry for the inconvenience.)
Ascensia is also literate, semi-realistic, and semi-plotted; we will add new plots whenever we see fit.

Our Website:

Rules:

IC:

-Realistic colours only.

-No objects besides bracelets and ear feathers.

-Be literate and realistic with your roleplaying.

-Your character is not a god. You cannot dodge every attack or inflict damage through every move you make.

-No powerplaying.

-Acknowledge your character's weaknesses; if it is blind, it cannot fight as well as other members of it's species, or perhaps not at all.

-No homosexual relationships -- animals do not know that homosexuality is even a thing.

-Do not stir up unnecessary drama without a moderator or high-rank's consent.

-Bats move to another roosting ground during the winter - we won't make them hibernate for the sake of the roleplay.

-Owls are born from eggs, not a womb.

-Hatchlings and newborns are either not allowed on the ground at all or must be supervised often while away from the roosting spot - this I will leave up to their parents.

-All hatchlings and newborns must have a guardian to watch over them.

-Swearing is fine, but do not abuse it.

-Move mating into whisper if you have to do it.

-Try to avoid post-cutting.

-You may have up to four characters.

-Your character must yield to the ranks higher than it.

OOC:

-Do not be rude

-Swearing is okay, but don't abuse it.

-Be mature.

-Don't cause unneeded drama.

-Don't spam

-NEVER give out the map pass without permission from a staff member.

Lou's Almost-Complete Guide to Presets

In this guide, I'll teach you how to download presets, how to create decent to amazing presets, and finally how to export them properly. I've divided them into several posts so that, as added insurence, I will not run out of space (However unlikely.) I also happen to like to organized way Tearless managed her Mod thread. (Here) I am here to answer any questions you have, so don't be afraid to ask!

Yes, there are two pages. Exporting a preset is the first post in page 2. I'm sorry for the inconvienience; my need to be thorough caused it.

**The thread is currently under construction, please be patient

Rules

~ Regular FeralHeart rules apply
~ Respect all or any users on this thread. There are no stupid questions when it comes to presets.
~ Any examples of my presets or other people's presets here ARE NOT to be used by you, under any circumstances. They belong to their rightful owners, which may include myself.
~ Read ALL POSTS Thoroughly before asking questions; chances are the answer is somewhere there. If you ask a question that has been answered in the posts, I'll direct you to the post containing the answer.

Game Help / Linking Portals to Cape ~~ Please help!
« on: May 12, 2013, 02:34:22 pm »
Before you jump in and tell me how to link portals, I'd like to clarify something; I know how to link portals on maps. You go to one map and write down the coordinates where you want people to spawn. Then you go to the other map and..well, we all know what we do there.

What I can't figure out is, after you've linked a map to cape or another original FH map, how do you get a character to spawn in a certain place?

Please help! I'm making a WolfQuest Slough Creek map and I need people to spawn on the Little Butte.

Well, the title says most of it! I am currently working on a Slough Creek map based off of the WolfQuest Slough Creek map. I am happy to report that it is going well, and that it will, indeed, be a public map. It will also come with the tree swaying program for added effect. I am also using Naturalistic, Badass, and FeralHeart+ textures on it, and the result is, so far, visually stunning. The map is not exact due to height issues, but I am happy with the heightmap and the mask. I am also happy to announce that the map will run on the Slough Creek WolfQuest sound track. This map (And the cattle farm map attached) are both public, so fear not!

Also, I am trying to find a root den and a cow elk/buck elk mesh. Camp tents and cart wheels would be lovely too.

I believe that's it. I'm on my mobile so I cannot post pictures, and I'm sorry for any typos. I will provide a link to a better thread.

Please note that this map will have rules, and one I will state right now.

You will not claim this map as your own. I worked hard on it for you guys. If I hear of so much as one person claiming it as their own, I will report you and shut down the map. I hope I am clear with this. I work for weeks on my maps (especially huge ones like this) and it takes up a lot of my time. So yeah, I would be really hurt and upset if someone claimed that they built it.

Oh, and I, Flarefur (Aka Louis) would be the only one allowed to do that. :)

Apparentia Meridiem

Is a Latin phrase that loosely translates to 'Apparitions of Midday' , or "Midday Apparitions'.

General Information:

We are a wolf roleplay consisting of two packs and two spirit-realms, one good, and one bad, both of which are enemies. The packs are going through troubled times, as lately, the 'Wisps' that used to follow wolves about (usually the spirits of their deceased family members or friends) are rapidly being replaced by 'Shadows', (spirits of wolves that passed into the Atrum rather than the Lucem upon death). These wolves are stirring up trouble, and are often considered 'evil' by other wolves.

There Is One Map:

Main Map --- This has a lot of detail, as listed below..I'm probably gonna chat your...eyes...ears...whatever's off! :D

Map Requirements:

The maker of the map must be anywhere from skilled to intermediate, please. No new map makers.

1. I will provide you with the height map. If it needs to be changed, alert me, and I shall change it.

2. I will also provide the terrain map. This I am less skilled with, and you have permission to edit.

3. The upper half of the map must be snow terrain.

4. The lower half must be grass/flower grass and dirt/sand terrain. (Choose flower grass or grass, sand or dirt.)

5. The rivers and water must be either a dirt or sand, whichever looks better.

6. The upper right corner of the map is the Incolores camp.

7. The lower left corner of the map is the Pratinus camp.

8. The lower right corner is the Pratinus graveyard. The portal should be located somewhere off to the side here.

9. The lower half of the map should only have deciduous trees. (This means leafy--no pines!) It should also include weeds and plenty of prey. (Deer, mice, rabbits...If possible.)

10. The upper half of the map should only include coniferous trees. (This means needles (pines)--No leafy trees!) Scraggly bushes and other weeds like that, snowy, if possible. This should include less prey. (Small deer, mice and rabbits.)

11. The graveyard (lower right corner) should be either dirt or sand (whatever you chose before) and should have dead trees and stones lined up like gravstones, with flowers before some of the rocks.

14. The large island in the middle is a meeting place. There should be a place for the Alpha's and Alphess' of both packs to sit and speak. I was thinking rocks. The Beta's and Betess' would have rocks on a lower level, either to the left or right of their Alpha/Alphess' rock, and the Delta's and Deltess' rock would be lower than the Beta rock, as well.

15. Each camp should have a place for the Alpha to sit high and call meetings. There should also be dens for each rank. (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Healer, Warrior, Expecting/Pup and Elder.) These should contain nests. (A bunch of caves within a larger cave. Each rank has a large cave with many little ones in it (oriented around a fire), except for Healer, Alpha, Beta and Delta.

16. Healer dens are simple: There is one area for the healer to sleep, and another larger area for their patients. I will use an example from The Wonderful Beginning (Dawn of the Era) For you;

17. Alpha, Beta, and Delta Den are located within the indent within the Pratinus camp. Each den is on it's own.

18. The entrance to every den should be covered with lichen. (That you can walk through.)

19. On the left side of the map, by the lake in the upper left corner, there is an indent. This is the Incolores graveyard. Like the Pratinus' graveyard, this was the victim of fire. Dead trees, and headstones lay there. There are hardly any flowers within this grave.

Map Rules:

1. You may not take credit for the height map or the roleplay. (Credit for putting items in and constructing the map will be given to you)

2. You may not give this map away to any other roleplay, or person, without asking me first. And the answer will most likely be no.

3. No weather, please! With the mix of snow and rain, it would be unrealistic!

4. Try to follow the requirements. They are there for a reason, right?

Other Details:

1. The map should be named "Apparentia Meridiem" Or "Apparentia".

2. The portal should be located in the Pratinus Graveyeard, off to the side.

3. Prey should be included if possible, please! Fireflies and fish should be located in the forest, and deer, hares, birds, and mice/rats should be in any territory.

4. If you can do music on the map, I would kiss you. I would like two songs, each playing after the other, on a loop. If you cannot put both songs in, then put the first one (rd027 In the download file) onto the main map.

I can provide you with music that I will upload it to mediafire.  Anyways, the ones that I would like to use are below:

Music:

I believe that the first is rdn027. o3o I love them both, and both I manged to get from my Aequalis map download before it was shut down and remade into Aemuli Novum.

I do believe that's it. I really need this map to be done. I suck at maps, and my own FH won't let me put the height map in anyways.
