Game Help / Re: Did I just break my own FH?
« on: August 30, 2016, 04:16:40 am »
If you used particles in your map go to C:\Feralheart\media\particles and delete any copies.
The copies should have _0 after them. Don't delete any that aren't copies. Sometimes this happens, and I'm not sure why.
I think it can happen in C:\Feralheart\media\sky, too.

If you added new items via C:\Feralheart\media\objects\my_objects, try getting rid of those.

Those are the only other solutions I can think of besides the ones already mentioned.

Game Help / Re: Items effecting character select markings?
« on: July 02, 2016, 11:33:50 pm »
I don't have experience with modding, BUT,
Did you change anything in your markings.cfg?
Also make sure all of your FH texture files are there, for example fbodymask, fmarktigerhead, fbodyshade.
If you think you may have changed markings.cfg try to see what you changed and undo it, or restore a backed up version of it.
Another thing is try to use Direct3D9 rendering system instead of OpenGL if you can.

If all solutions that are mentioned in this thread (By me and any other future posters) don't work, I'd just suggest reinstalling.

Game Help / Re: Clicking to Move
« on: July 02, 2016, 12:22:13 am »
Another possible solution that works for me,
Try right clicking on the record button BEFORE left clicking. That way, FH seems to think you're moving the camera or something. Not sure.
Another thing others do is look at the sky before clicking out of the game.

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Possible Map Submissions?
« on: July 01, 2016, 05:43:50 am »
But then there's whole question that most users seem to forget or not grasp, as most of the current maps and future maps has not been made for the main purpose of being cool as a "map" but to fit in and be a part of the world we're trying to create. In the old game it was just random maps spread out everywhere, in different directions, with different environments and broken bearings, nothing really made sense. If you've kept a close eye you can see how all maps are properly connected and environments slowly change to create this world and we hope that it will continue to expand in the future.

Oh my god, I actually LOVE this. I'm gonna be honest- You guys are geniuses for this idea.
The old FH was kinda like a broken puzzle, but now we have these maps that all interlock and make sense.. It makes the realism part of me happy.
If anything though, perhaps a member map CONCEPT contest would be an interesting turn?

Game Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Activity?
« on: July 01, 2016, 02:34:26 am »
Activity is something I too struggle with and I'll admit, sometimes it ISN'T fair.
I've been on both ends of the stick.
The leader of the roleplay wants people who can keep their roleplay going and alive. They want people who will be there, as friends, packmates, clanmates. They want their plots to be carried out and sometimes the RP gets interesting enough to give the character life, and they become attached. They want others to put in the effort that they have.
However, members may not have the same time zone, or even the same schedule of wake-eat-sleep. Maybe they have jobs, school, etc. I wasn't able to roleplay almost all of this year's fall/winter/early spring due to high school and even without me doing any of my hobbies, I still failed to pass the school year. If I were committed to a roleplay, it would be a lot higher stress for me than just that.
But then we go back to how the leader sees it.

It's complicated, and is just but unjust at the same time. I think kicking after 2-3 weeks of inactivity suffices, unless the member has given a notice of absence, though. I've had my share of disappointment when I've been gone for 2-3 days and been kicked. It kinda hurts, almost.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Eh, just an idea I had.

The only map I miss is Fluorite, really. Temple of dreams was a pretty one, though.
I think those have the most redesign value over all.
Fluorite was a BIG place where you could most definitely find an unoccupied spot to RP, which is pretty nice. A newer fluorite with more vegetation and trees, even caves and rocks, would be pretty cool!
Temple of dreams also has redesign value due to, let's face it, It's a temple of dreams. Floating rocks, structures, flowers, stars, etc. It could really be remade into a BEAUTIFUL map, I think.

Game Discussion / Re: Future updates?
« on: June 30, 2016, 07:46:22 pm »
For a desert map, default FH models (Some of the bush/shrub models, the elephant skeletons,) do work and I'd love to see it. I feel like we are gonna see a frosty or icy map, because by looking into the textures we find a snow covered rock texture (And material). As for maps, there's a world of possibilities. In all honesty, I look forward to more caves or perhaps a fiery lava map.
I don't think monthly updates would be a very possible thing by the way, but, perhaps every 2-3 months would be a nice rush-free schedule? No matter how much we love the game and the staff, they're only human and monthly updates would be asking a lot. ^^"
I do think there's one thing possible though. There's some wing mesh replacers out there that look a lot nicer (Bat wings, I'm looking at you.) and a mod that adds claws. Since these are a simple mesh mod, I feel like these could be added, but I don't know if they're a favorable option to the staff. Who knows. I think they're really wanting to gear out new content, not things that we already have seen and had in our own games.
