The same thing happened to me! All you have to do is download Feral-Heart setup, do NOT bother to get FH+, but Red said that he will make a update (Please, don't ask when) where it won't have a black screen, and more cool stuff on FH+! (It's a FH+ update) Hope this helped! c:

You have to be in Bonfire Island while still on the regular Feral Heart game to access the FH+
....why? Idk, it's just how it was made. Just fallow these steps.

1. Have both Feral Heart and FH+ downloaded on your computer.

2. Open up Feral Heart and get on your character and go to Bonfire Island.

3. Quit Feral Heart and then go into FH+ and go into the character you send to Bonfire.

And there you go, your in FH+ now. It may look different from the regular Bonfire Island, but that's normal. But this easy step does solve the black screen some people get
