Hi there! 

I was wondering if you could help me with an issue with my laptop?  It says that it's connected to the Internet, but I can't access any webpages.  When I run a diagnostic test, it says "Windows can't connect to the device or resource (primary DNS server).

I don't want to use Comcast's tech support because: a) I hear it's crappy, b) You have to pay for it, and c) It rarely fixes the problem.  My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7930, running Windows 7 Ultimate.  It has Avira on it, and I disabled the firewall to see if that would help.  Firefox is on the list of allowed programs, also.  Help?!

My dad says that, usually when that happens, it means that:
A. Your internet connection needs to be reset. This is done through the main computer, you shut EVERYTHING down, including the DSL I believe it's called, and it will reboot.
B. Your laptop is having a problem connecting to the server, although it says it is connected. I don't quite know how that can be solved.
C. Your internet service is not working. If it just happened tonight, you may be in the area with the large thunderstorms.

By the way, if you can't access any webpages... How are you here? Or are you on another computer?

Hm, I've never exactly seen/heard/rode in a German car, so I'd never truly know. But anything that looks old-fashion would be fun.

I'm back.  Yeah, I'm on a different computer.  Everything else that runs off of the Internet in our house is working like a charm.  My iPod, phone, and my mom's phone work perfectly fine.  My mom took my laptop to work to see if it worked off of their wi-fi, and it still didn't work :/

@Zarorah Hm, perhaps it is something to do with the computer's ability to access the internet. I do not know it there is a possible way to fix that.

@Barish I looked at those, I believe the Volkswagen is my favorite.
