Game Discussion / Keeping FH Alive - Using FH as a Playarea for RPs Outside the FH Forums

One way we could bring attention to the game is to use it as a playarea for roleplays you've set up form outside the FH forums. FH is easy to use, easy to modify, and could run on a potato of a pc. These things make the game very accessible and a potentially great tool for rps everywhere.

Have an animal rp you've set up on a forum somewhere? Have FH be a place (optional or otherwise) for your participants to fool around in with a custom map! If you are participating in an animal rp, mention the game to the folk running the rp and see if they'd be interested in using the game as a 3D space for it.

Just make sure to have links to downloads and tutorials ready so folk new to the scene have an easy time obtaining important marking and item packs or other mods essential for the rp you're running or are apart of.

FH is a game that, at it's core, is kept alive by it's users and people who, through all the roughness, have managed to keep it up and running. FH should not become a game that has to milk it's users for cash to stay alive, but in order to make the game better, money is key.

I have three ideas as to how money could be brought into the game.

FH has a community of very creative and talented people and that is something that can absolutely be used in the game's favor! A marketplace for users to sell their handmade presets, items, animations, bodyparts, markings, or even whole maps for cash or (some kind of ingame currency) could bring a much needed cashflow into the game if the devs get some cut of the sales. However I would not know what kind of rework would be required for such a marketplace, but it would have the benefit of making aesthetic mods an officially supported feature in-game.

Allowing players to donate towards the game is also an option, no amount is too little to keep this hole-in-the-wall game alive. The devs setting up a Patreon would also be about as helpful.

Ads. You, me, and everyone who has ever used anything that is free to play has encountered adds in-game, and we all absolutely hate them. But ads are ultimately a necessary evil and can be implemented in ways that are out of the way and minimally irritating.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Wing Update

The chunky wings we all know and love have yet to change form when I last played (which was years ago)

I would like to propose an update to the wings to make them smaller, sleeker and tweaks to just overall make them look better on a character and allow more customization options.

Things such an update could include:

- more types of wings
- wing markings
- wing size slider
- option to be able to fly without wings

I went away from FH years ago after accepting that without the source code, the game would forever stay as it was. The last big update I remember were the addition of wings.

Knowing now that the code is in the hands of the devs once again it gives me some hope for the future. If the game is to die, I want to be here for it's last breaths, and if it is to make a comback, I want to be here for that as well.
