Chapter One:
Dear Diary,
Today is the first day of high school, and I'm really nervous. OK, my mom is calling me now. Hopefully everything will turn out alright.
-August 7-Holly quickly dressed herself into a black T-shirt and denim jeans with her dirty white-and-blue sneakers that still fit her feet after a year. What will high school be like? she thought nervously. Holly even thought he could hear her heart pounding with anxiety as she dressed herself and placed a laptop and the diary into her backpack. "Wait," she said. She picked up a tiny key on her desk and slipped it into her pocket and snapped the lock on her diary shut. "There, now no one can see my thoughts. Hopefully this diary can get me until senior year and then I can go into college."
Despite not eating breakfast, Holly ran out the door and ran all the way to school. When she got there, she saw many many students and uncertainty formed a hard ball in her stomach as if she swallowed a rock whole.
