If map sync was implemented, imagine the lag.

Imagine the people of the new update.

You're forgetting that registration is still restricted. People who will want to join the game because of the new update will still have to wait until registration opens.

The other question is, would a map sync really attract that many players into the game? Does anyone know if there was a surge in people after the preset sync was introduced? It would be a nice feature, but I think the impact is being exaggerated.

Kuri's idea also looks interesting (having a pre-approved map sync). Maybe also changing the Cape map in order to allow more accessibility to distant portals would be a solution.

Adding on this, there ARE some requirements for the preset sync, meaning that there is a size limit. These requirements can also be used for maps to make sure no huge and extremely mesh heavy maps that could slow down or crash slower computers won't start affecting people's games.

You know...  if "approved" maps were offered in their own sync', there would be an opportunity to have a "Featured map of the month" thing.
