When you post a new topic...
« on: February 24, 2015, 12:44:20 am »
After you post a new topic on any board, what do you do? Do you anxiously await the first reply, or do you just leave it for others to enjoy? If there are no replies after a while, do you begin to fear that everyone thinks your topic is stupid? *raises hands* Guilty. Posting a new topic for me is like shaking the contents of my mind out onto a billboard. In fact, I'm already wondering if this topic is stupid and a waste of time. Anyone else?

OH BOY

I mostly majorly stalk the Unread Topics board waiting for a reply, or I have the thread actually open and I refresh every ten seconds seeing who, if anyone, is viewing it. Then othertimes I go to the 'Who's Online' board and see if anyone is looking at it. But when no one replies I do get pretty worried and sad and stuff, especially if it's something I was really proud of or spend a lot of time on.

Or other times (especially if I post an rp) I yell at my friends to go look at it

I read it over a few times, edit it a bit, leave for a half hour or so, then wait in the virtual bushes and stalk every post.

Similarly to Senpai Turtle here, I freak out majestically when no one replies to an idea I'm particularly fond of.

I refresh the updated topics page every minute or so. Minute, ha. More like every second.

Oh my goodness, this topic. <3

I can totally relate. Once a new thread is posted (by me), I would refresh my page every once in and awhile and wait. Then, I would leave and check how many visitors had checked it show far. Then, later on, maybe an hour, I check again to see if I have any new posts.

But if it have been 6 hours and no reply, I instantly get insulted and think it's unnecessary or just don't make any sense. Or, maybe its me and how I write; I'm bad at explaining things. Really.

But yeah, I'm a person who's likes to check every hour or so.

Well, I refresh the page every 5 minutes after posting for about 4 hours and if nobody has replied, I just leave it, go shame in the darkest corner of my room and think about why nobody is interested...Yeah...that's pretty much it. And if the next day no one still has replied, I'll forget about this whole forum for at least 3 days P:

I second what Turtle said lol

Mainly if it is my steer, art, or maps thread owo cause those mean the most to me. I will CONSTANTLY stalk that thread, see how many people will visit it, who all is watching it, that kind of stuff

Personally, I don't care much for my own topics.

I'll make one that I feel might be interesting based off of my experiences or simply because I think that the community might find it entertaining or be able to relate.

After creating it, I'll check to make sure nothing double posted or anything like that and I'll do a quick reread to make sure it's readable and makes sense, then, I'll just leave it be.

I probably won't even notice it's still there unless someone posts a new reply in it and it gets bumped to the first page or something.

Same goes for my posts, I'll post if I feel it's relevant and you can quote me, but I won't keep checking every five minutes to see if someone did.
