Personality
Zurui is more laid back than he should be. Not being worked up no matter the situation, he keeps a cool head. You will usually find him looming around ponds or laying under trees relaxing. He holds a monotone voice in any conversation and is very blunt with his words. Some would say he's modest others he's rude. Don't expect him to show up on time, Zurui likes to get to destinations when he wants to and he will not make up excuses as to why he is late.

Pup
While Zurui was a few months old his father, Hige Endo, was the current leader of the Teishi Pack. Hige was a loyal and valiant leader, but there were a few who disagreed. Plotting behind their leader's back was a small group of dogs who thirsted for power. It wasn't soon that Hige was assassinated by a fellow pack members during a hunting session with the ruffians one calm spring night. Young Zurui witnessed this before his eyes for he was trailing behind his father. Frozen in fear watching Hige gasping for air before choking on his final breath. Zurui wasn't noticed by the group of dogs so he ran back to the pack as fast as he could tears blinding his dual colored eyes. Telling his mother the incident she was struck with both fear and grief. Seeing the pack of murders wonder back into the area both sides went on the aggressive. But in the end, the bad guys prevailed. Being that Zurui was still a pup, the leader of the rebel group was granted with the rank of Heichou. With no oppositions or anyone strong enough to stand up, the pack continued on as Zurui lived miserably...
Teen
Being rebellious towards his new leader, Zurui would go nights without food and shelter. But this only fueled his desire to give justice. He filled his lonely nights with hard training, his burning passion keeping him going. Zurui would push himself over his own limit. Staying out in long winters, running for miles, and refusing food when he had the chance or was offered. Being silent and a shut in, Zurui wasn't really a social bird. So to everyone else they thought he was going mad as he spent time meditating and practicing, secluded from his pack. But this also came with a downfall. His mother, Ai, would be worried sick for her kin. Watching him starve, continuously climbing up and down trees, even ramming into them at full force. She felt like her heart was going to burst. She approached her son pleading for him to stop this but he just responded..."This isn't enough.." He said, watching his mother's tears swell in her brown eyes. Zurui was still unsatisfied with himself. He didn't feel ready. One night while his pack was sleeping Zurui sunk away. Floppy ears twitching as he could hear his mother calling out his name. Not looking back, the Catahoula let a single tear shed.
Adult
For the next year and few months the hound has been roaming a nearby city to improve his skill. He has got into a few scuffles here and there with dogs in gangs. Getting minor bruises and scars over his legs and face. Zurui then got a crazy idea. He wanted to hide his eyes for his training. If he could not see anything ,the brute thought, this would heighten his senses to be more alert of his surrondings. Meeting up with a group of gang dogs they devised a plan. Said plan was to have Zurui act blind so the humans could cover his eyes. Oddly enough, this worked. Before the Catahoula could be caged he made a run for it, running into walls and door in the process before finally making it out. Over time, Zurui has trained and roamed the city to sharpening his skills. Causing the brute to hold a reputation being called the
Blind Black Bird. Gaining this reputation by helping out strays being affiliated with dog gang wars along with his crazy adventure of escaping the humans who wanted them for "Dog Fights." Once he felt as if he gained enough skill, Zurui went back to the forest to hand justice. At this time, he did not take the tattered cloth of his face until he had reached his pack. His mother getting over emotional seeing her son finally returning. Zurui gave his hellos and went straight for the leader, challenging him on the spot. A long and bloody battle perused right after. Near the end of the battle, the villain was on his back and swiped at Zurui's face. The cloth over his head ripping revealing his blazing emerald and sapphire eyes as he dealt the final blow to the male's nape. Zurui has defeated his father's slayer. A sense of relief running though his gray fur. Turning back towards his pack mates, Zurui padded off into the distance. His mother running over to him as he said. "My work here is done. I entrust you, mother to lead everyone..." Zurui muttered, giving his mother one last smile. After this scene in the Calahoula's life, Zurui decided to tone it down, be a loner , and enjoy things while they lasted since his father's life was short but still sweet till the end.
